Very early on my entrepreneurial life I learned a simple truth that’s helped me and my husband with the businesses we own: Don’t allow anyone or anything to own your own business. Specially a social platform that can decide today to change the rules of the game.

Here’s what you can do instead: Plan ahead for situations like this one, don’t put all of yourself eggs in one basket don’t give all the power or solely depend on social platforms. It’s that simple.

Don’t get me wrong. Social platforms are a great tool to grow your business but they should never be your only tool!

Own your website, own your contacts list and take the relationships with your customers beyond social platforms, ask for emails instead. Create newsletters for your clients to stay up to date, make your own podcast (a project I’m excited to launch soon) never underestimate the power of a phone number. Things that might seem obsolete are the only things to truly help you build your brand and grow beyond depending on a platform that owns you.

2020 vacations weren’t bad after all.. we just had to get a little creative but they were so worth it!

Even tough it does look a little different than being home, life still comes with me anywhere and that’s what I LOVE about having such a flexible job and schooling system.. life is still happening but it can happen anywhere I decide for it to happen 🤍
