Motherhood hit different when you look up and realize you officially have a YM...a whole on your hands. Like seriously, where is the time going?! 😅🤯
This Mother’s Day feels extra special because this past year my village has gone above and beyond for me and my son. Watching my son grow into a sweet, creative, strong, healthy, smart, funny, and kind young man fills me with so much hope for his future, and I wouldn't have been able to get here without my village 🌻
Shoutout to the moms, sisters, aunties, grandmas, cousins, women in childcare, and every other woman who takes the time to pour into children. Your love & attention matters more than words can explain!
This holiday shines the spotlight on mothers, but I wouldn’t be the mother I am without my dope ass son and the incredible village we have behind us.
Happy Mother’s Day to you and yours 💐✨ 💕🌹

Those who get it, get it ... & those who don't, won't 🤷🏾♀️
We have been our own undoing for years, but it all stemmed from survival. I can’t speak for everyone, when I say we are no longer in “survival”mode, but I can say there are a lot more resources and tools available today which gives the curly hair community opportunities to heal our hair traumas….and it’s up to us to take advantage of it. 🫡😌
So many of the traditions I learned growing up that revolved around hair care were the culprit for breakage, dry hair, hair loss, itchy and flaky scalp, etc. It’s not until I priotized health, hygiene, and the science behind hair care is when I began to heal and expand. 📈✅
Take a moment to pause and think about where your traditions come from. Are they from a place of thriving? Or surviving? And once we can answer that question honestly we can starting living and healing. 🌱💫
Want to know if you’re a good candidate for braided extensions? 👇🏽
✅ If you are NOT experiencing any form of of hair loss or thinning
✅ If you DON’T normally wear extensions often
✅ If your hair ISN’T actively breaking or shedding
✅ If you DON’T have flaking or itching issues
✅If you already wash your hair FREQUENTLY, because wearing extensions won’t allow you to wash your hair for at least a few weeks
These factors are very important to consider before just throwing on extensions or getting braided by any stylist. You may be able to get away with neglecting these factors a few times, but when it becomes a habit or as a part of your daily hair care routine, that’s when things can get pretty risky. 😬⚠️
So use this as a rubric to determine where your stance is for wearing extensions, and if you so happen to be experiencing any of the things listed then it may be time to give extensions a break and nurse your hair and scalp back to a healthy state. ✨🌱
This is exactly why a consultation is **non-negotiable** before I can ever promise results or a hair style 🫡🫡
There are so many myths, traditions, and “that’s just how it’s always been done” habits that are quietly leading to hair loss, flaking, and chronic scalp irritation.😬😞
A proper scalp detox isn’t a luxury… it’s a reset your scalp *actually* needs when things start going left. I’m so grateful this client trusted me, because we were able to get her scalp back into a healthy state, without relying on extensions to hide what was really going on.🎯😉
Truth is… most people have no idea what’s happening on their scalp until it’s progressed way too far. Itching, flaking, and hair loss are **common**… but they are NOT normal. 🙅🏽♀️‼️
That’s where I come in.
I bridge the gap between suffering and real healing. 👩🏾⚕️🌱
If you’ve been dealing with this and you’re tired of hiding it, feeling uncomfortable, or not getting real answers. It’s time for a reset. Book your consultation so we can get you back to a healthy foundation for hair growth. ✨🌱🌹

Wigs were never meant to be a part of your hair care routine...🙅🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
Historically speaking, they weren’t even about beauty the way we see them now. In the 16th century, wigs became popular among male elites and politicians mainly to cover up Syphilis, which could cause hair loss. 😬🤢
What started as a way to "hide health concerns" (manipulate the people while still spreading Syphilis) eventually evolved into a representation of status, then evolved into costume, and has now evolved today as modern day beauty influenced heavily by celebrity culture and media. 🙄🙄🙄
But just because something is normalized doesn’t mean it’s natural or healthy, especially when overused‼️💯
Relying on wigs daily, especially without properly caring for your real hair underneath, can create a cycle where your hair becomes more damaged… and you feel like you need the wig even more. 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and you can start to move differently to help get you on the right track to growing your hair. 👇🏽
✨️Start actually caring for your natural hair underneath, ash your hair more than once a month
✨️Wash your wigs regularly, just like your real hair (preferably more than 1x a month!)
✨️Rotate styles underneath like large braids, twists, or flat twists (without excessive tension)
✨️Take your wig off as soon as you get home so your scalp can breathe. Never sleep in wigs or keep in for long periods as a sew in
✨️Choose wigs with breathable mesh caps over thick, suffocating or spandex. Avoid wigs that require glue, adhesives, or combs when possible
✨️ If you feel like you “can’t” go without your wig, start small & find ways to wear your natural hair more
Your scalp is alive, breathing & contains pores. It needs air, circulation, and balance. When it’s constantly covered or suffocated, heat and friction can happen, blood flow can be affected, an enviroment for buildup is created, and hair thinning/loss likely will follow.
At some point, wearing wigs stops being a style, and it just becomes a full on dependency.
Stop dressing up the problem, &
Start addressing the problem 🎯
Styles like these aren’t for everyone and I’m very intentional about who I offer them to. Your density, texture, and pattern all have to be evaluated first to determine if you’re even a good candidate. 🤓💯
Applying these styles on hair that’s experiencing thinning, hair loss, flaking, or weakness can actually do more harm than good over time. That’s why I take the health of your hair seriously before anything else. 👩🏾⚕️🌱
I’m truly proud of every client who has committed to improving their hair care habits, even when it feels uncomfortable or unfamiliar. Watching you all grow in understanding, discipline, and self-love when it comes to your hair means everything to me.
Because at the end of the day, it’s deeper than just styling… it’s about helping you build a healthier relationship with yourself and your hair. ✨💜
