A creatively inspired salon in Wynwood Junior & Hatter is the collective vision of master stylists Andrea Battista and Mario Silvestri.
The 1,100 square foot space, more of a tour de force than your run-of-the-mill high-end salon, is the result of their life-long reverence for hair, fashion and design. Wanting to create a brand that was entirely their own, Andrea and Mario conceptualized, designed and built the studio themselves with the intent of creating an atmosphere that is welcoming and intimate; like being a guest in Andrea
and Mario’s own home. Junior & Hatter’s decor is a clear testament to the impeccable taste of its two founders, featuring an ambiance that manages to find the perfect balance between rustic and refined immersed in organic, soothing hues. With over 20 years worth of experience between them, Andrea and Mario were lead stylists at their previous locations, Cutler Salon and Sean Donaldson Hair, respectively. Andrea, who is represented by MC2, has been featured in numerous magazines and most recently Allure deemed him the man behind one of the most admired haircuts in Miami while Mario’s work has graced the pages of Elle among renowned publications. For them, their job is not just about the tresses; it’s about the construction of an entire image. This philosophy of a 360-degree experience is what they set out to achieve with the opening of Junior & Hatter.
“With this project, we want to share our vision of how we see and live hairdressing and what a hair salon should be,” says Andrea. “Taking into consideration the importance we place on design and fashion, it is not a coincidence we picked the Wynwood Art District in Miami as the first location for our brand,” explains Mario. “We want guests to come in and experience our home-like setting and enjoy the time they spend with us while receiving the best in professional hair service.”
