Edith (Jean Stapleton) had pushed herself TOO far for Archie’s (Carroll O’Connor) St. Patrick Day’s Party at his bar, Archie Bunker’s Place. Archie finds out that she’s sick, and realizes that he needs Edith. In what would be the last scene of “All In Family”, the show came full circle as EDITH, not Archie, got the last word!
