After 5 years at Salons by JC, we’re excited to share what’s next:
➡️ Defy Hair MPLS
Starting July 13th, Hannah and Claire will be working out of our new space at 515 W Lake St, Suite D. It’s just down the street in Lyn-Lake, with more room and a setup that fits how we’ve grown.
➡️ Defy Hair NE (coming later this year)
Audra will stay at Salons by JC for now and will move to our new Northeast location later this year.
Two locations. Same Defy feel. More space to keep doing what we love.
We’re so grateful for the last 5 years and excited for what’s ahead.

I have been setting up an event along with the help from q***r space collective and a ton of amazing artists at salons by jc uptown. So finally all set!
We will be having a back to school gender free haircut day where all cuts will be done by the lovely salons by jc suite professionals! We want to create a safe space for our lgbtq+ kiddos to feel heard.
-Event is Sunday August 21st
-At 11am-3pm
-Location is Salons by jc uptown

-Parent or guardian approval needed
-Free hair cuts first come first served
-Free 10 minute chair massage by the amazing for parent or guardians if they would like
-Masks to be worn

Happy 2s day from Defy!
We have lots of 2s to be thankful for. Defy Hair is now two years old! We’re eternally grateful for all of you who have supported us. Though the start of our business was unconventional to say the least, we appreciate your continued support and referrals. It is because of you all that we’ve gotten the opportunity to expand into an additional suite in the Salons by JC building. With two suites, we are able to continue to keep appointments socially distant and all of us healthy as our small business grows.
We cannot wait for what the future will bring, and we thank you all for making these two years so special.
