It is one of the most commonly misattributed quotes (most people/places will say it was Mark Twain, including Google), but that doesn’t matter. It only matters that it was said.
And meant. It sums up what this blog is about and what I remind myself of daily. It’s that same thinking/feeling that encouraged me start to create a new life. One that I base my yoga learnings & teachings on and one that I get the most inspiration for my creations from. It’s where most of my posts & writing come from, as you’ll read here in this blog. In yoga there is something called “sthita sukrah” which means the balance between effort and ease. For me, the effort is taking chances in life even though they are sometimes scary. And the ease is letting go of old ways that no longer fit. It’s about becoming your best and truest self. The infinity symbol represents this balance – one side being strength, the other side flexibility. It is the middle you find stability. As I was dreaming up this new way of life I noticed how the sailors knot is in this same shape. And given my love of all things nautical, thus was born Preppy Yogi. I'll be posting about class schedules, workshops, private instruction and events I'll be at. This page is about experiences. I travel, I eat, I teach, I learn and I create. It's all an adventure. A combination of lifestyle and attitude. It’s about finding that sweet spot in our practices, our work and most importantly, in our lives. It’s also here that you’ll read about all the wonderfully crazy changes I’ve made in my life and what continues to evolve from those changes. I’ll be writing about my adventure inspired home decor shop, Sea Legs, and my journey to become a yoga instructor. I’ll be sharing some related articles and fun updates/findings.
