I love, love love the perimeter details of a Blonding session! I often spend as much time (or more!) on the perimeter as I do the rest of the head. It allows for greater impact in the places you see the most.

Kicking myself for not taking a before photo! Our goal was to get out as much of the red color depositing shampoo as possible and we did pretty darn good! Did you know that in order to cut the red you have to balance it out with green? Red and green are on opposite ends of the color wheel and cancel each other out.
Color theory is so fun and always keeps me learning.

Just finishing up my first week back after nearly 3 months away. It feels so good to be back. To offer a place for people to sit, to start putting themselves back together, to feel human touch again. The best part of my job is looking another person in the eyes and try to see them. To read between the words and understand their hearts. Today was heavy. Many living blocks away from where George Floyd was murdered, my clients shared with me what these past two weeks looked like for them, shared their fears, their anger and their sadness. We talked of our plans to make sure we’re part of the solution and to advocate for our fellow humans. As a stylist, it’s hard to find a balance of using my space as a respite and also as a space to process life. But all of the fluff just seems so trivial right now. So in heaviness we sit. Because change comes in sitting in the things that make us uncomfortable. I love my job. I love the technique and the beautifying and the laughing and the crying and the privilege of seeing people’s hearts.
