Toners are extremely misunderstood🤔, for some reason people think toners are intended to be an extra cleansing step. While some toners can provide a deeper cleanse (exfoliation), this is not what all toners do. Toners, in the past, were mainly used to bring the ph of the skin back down (cleanser can make the ph of the skin rise). In recent years, toners can balance ph, exfoliate, hydrate, and so many more things!

What is the best active ingredient for glowing skin?
Antioxidants: If you ever seen a sliced apple 🍎 turn brown, then you’ve witnessed oxidation, which is caused by free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules, to gain stability, they react w/ other molecules triggering a chain reaction that damages cells. Oxidative stress breaks down collagen and hinders skins natural repair process causing fine lines & wrinkles. By scavenging free radicals antioxidants can help prevent and correct these visible signs and give the skin a more youthful glow🌟.
Vitamin E: Vitamin E it Tocopheryl Acetate is an antioxidant. Furthermore, vitamin E has moisturizing and healing benefits and helps to strengthen skin barrier function. Vitamin E is not advisable for sensitice, very oily, or acne prone skin.
Retinoids: Vitamin A, aka Retinoid/Retinol is an active anti-aging ingredient. But anti-aging is not the only benefit of this ingredient. Our skin normally sheds and regenerates every 30 days but when you introduce a retinol this increases to about 14-21 days. This increase of skin cell regeneration means means your dead skin will shed faster making room for the new radiant skin underneath✨

Why is it important to layer skincare products correctly?
Layering your skincare correctly maximizes your products Efficacy and Absorption.
The best way to figure out which product to use first is by identifying the VEHICLE(substance/consistency that makes up the bulk of the product) of the product.
These are 5 types of vehicles used in skincare:
1. Water 💦
2. Anyhydrous (No water) 🙅🏽♀️💦
3. Oil
4. Emulsion (A mixture of two liquid substances that wouldn’t blend naturally on their own
5. Suspension (Formula that had one thing suspended in another)
To maximize your products efficacy and absorption you want to layer your products from thinnest to thickest. Water based are always first because they have the smallest 🐜molecule size. Suspensions are last because they have the biggest 🐘 molecule size. So let’s say for example, I put on my water based solution after my suspension 🧴product. The water based product 💦 will not be absorbed by the skin properly because the bigger molecules from the suspension are blocking 🧱 the small molecules on the water based product.
