🇺🇸MEMORIAL DAY DIDN’T START WITH A COOKOUT. 🍔🍗

It started with people honoring the dead.

One of the earliest Memorial Day observances was led by formerly enslaved Black Americans who gathered to honor Union soldiers who never made it home.

Think about that.

Men who never got another summer. Never got another family barbecue. Never got another laugh. Never got another haircut. Never got another chance.

Today we stand beside oceans. Grill with family. Travel the world. Build businesses. Raise our children. Speak freely.

They never got that opportunity.

That’s the cost of freedom.

So while the food is hot and the music is playing, take a moment to remember the people who never made it home to enjoy either.

We’ve come a long way. 🇺🇸🫡

Cabo hit different when you standing there alone… waves crashing… salt in the air… Citrus Vanilla in your locs… and not a soul around you asking for anything.

That moment taught me something:

peace got a sound too.

For the travelers with beards, braids, and locs — you already know what ocean heat do to your hair.

That dry air. That salt water. That sun beating on your crown all day.

That’s why the black seed oil and coconut oil stay with me. 🥥🍑

Not for trends. Not for shelves. Not for algorithms.

For motion.

For passports. For balconies over oceans. For long flights. For men rebuilding themselves in silence.

Some people watch waves.

Some people survived enough to finally feel them. 🌊✈️

Whole time…🕰️
his mind was already losing battles that don’t even exist yet.

Truth is…
a lot of us been doing that our whole life.

We will sit in a room and mentally destroy ourselves over:

something nobody said…
a failure that ain’t happened…
a rejection that ain’t came…
a future we haven’t even arrived to yet.

Creating whole scenarios we swear gone happen! 😂 All over imagination. That’s dangerous. ⚠️

Because eventually your mind can’t tell the difference between: what’s REAL…
and what you KEEP REHEARSING. 🗣️

All over imagination. 🧠 So I stopped him.

I said:

“Lil Dude.… you creating storms before clouds even show up.⛈️ The future is a ghost. You can prepare for it…And still not control it.”

Heartbeat fast.💨
Chest tight.
Mood gone.
Energy drained.

That hit him.

Then I told him:

That’s why some people never enjoy life.

They so busy worrying over tomorrow…
they miss today. Read that again. 💯✂️
