New Addition to our medicinal garden “Toothache Plant”

Origin:
The toothache plant, scientifically known as Acmella oleracea, is native to South America, particularly Brazil. While its exact origins are debated, it’s widely believed to have been derived from a Brazilian species of Acmella. It’s also known as Spilanthes acmella in some regions.

Benefits/Uses:
The toothache plant, also known as Spilanthes acmella or Acmella oleracea, has a long history of medicinal use, particularly for dental pain relief. Traditionally, the plant’s flowers and leaves have been used to numb the mouth, ease toothaches, and stimulate saliva production. It has also been used for a variety of other conditions, including skin issues, inflammation, and even as a culinary herb.

Ancient Medicinal Uses:

Dental Pain Relief:
The plant’s primary use has been to alleviate toothaches and oral pain. Chewing the flowers or leaves can produce a numbing effect that can help reduce the pain.

Stomatitis Relief:
