I think this is a super important post to make because a lot of hairdressers are telling clients not to purchase products on Amazon because they are fake or expired & this is not entirely true.

You SHOULD support your hairstylist & purchase from them. There’s nothing I hate more than spending an entire appointment educating a client on a product that’s great for their hair, trying it out on them & practically wasting the product just for them to sit in my chair & order it online. Now in instances when I don’t have it in stock & you want it now, go for it!

BUT, DO NOT purchase from Target, WalMart, TJ Maxx, Ross, etc. The reason being these companies have NO rule regarding how long they can keep a product on their shelves. Meaning you could be purchasing a product that sat in a warehouse that wasn’t temperature controlled, got boxed & transported from freezing to sweltering conditions (which affects the quality of the product), then put on a shelf for a year until it sells.

There have been instances people have found MOLD in products because of how long it’s been circulating.

Amazon however, allows these products to be sold directly from the company to the consumer. For example, you can purchase a Joico shampoo DIRECTLY from Joico. If you don’t see the brand’s name as the seller of the product you’re purchasing, DON’T BUY IT.

Should you support Amazon? That’s a personal opinion, I think small business should come first but I also don’t think it’s the worst thing if your provider doesn’t have something in stock or you can’t get to your provider right away to snag something.

This Thursday, Oct 10, is dedicated to supporting the B Strong foundation and its efforts to provide direct relief to hurricane victims. A day of haircuts is planned, with all proceeds going directly to this charitable organization.
