During this appointment, the goal wasn’t just coverage, it was keeping variation in tone so the hair doesn’t collapse into one flat color.
* The gray coverage handled the regrowth without creating a harsh, solid line
* The balayage kept the ends lighter and more dimensional, instead of flat
* The toner added intentional warmth through the ends, giving a soft red undertone
* The dry cut removed internal weight, so the shape feels full but airy instead of heavy
A common misconception is that covering gray means going darker or more solid all over. In reality, that’s often what creates the heaviness clients are trying to avoid.
This works best for clients who want a more dimensional finish which is why I usually don’t recommend it if someone prefers a very uniform, opaque color from root to ends.
When clients come in, this is something we map out during consultations—where to keep depth, where to add light, and how that will grow out over time.

A new work photo (thank goodness!! IFYKYK) means a reintroduction!
I specialize in dry cutting and have spent years getting more and more obsessive about how hair actually falls and moves in real life. I also really love color, from soft, dimensional work to bigger changes, always with a focus on how it will grow out and fit your day-to-day.
My favorite part of this job, though, is problem-solving. Fixing something that’s felt “off,” figuring out why your hair won’t cooperate, or taking on something a little tricky—that’s where I’m happiest (could be the triple Ta**us coming out) ♉️ If I get quiet while I’m working, it’s just me focusing. I’ve learned the hard way that if I talk too much, I take forever, and we both have places to be.
I’m also huge on education. I love to explain why your hair does what it does and how to make it easier at home. My consultations tend to be a little longer because I’ve always been the person asking “but, why?”… and now I just do that professionally.
I laugh too loud, will find any opportunity to squeeze in a dad joke, and can give you a very specific list of documentaries or true crime shows you didn’t know you wanted. I love reading, puzzles, a really good meal out and making friends with every stranger I meet.
If you want great hair, honest opinions, and someone who will probably over-explain everything… I can’t wait to meet you!
“I want my hair to feel fuller, but I don’t want to lose length.”
This transformation focused on solving that exact problem while introducing a deep dark auburn color.
The haircut was done using dry cutting with internal texturizing, which allows me to see how the hair naturally sits and remove weight in very targeted areas.
That difference matters.
Instead of thinning the ends or shortening the haircut, internal texturizing creates air inside the shape, which helps the hair lift and move when styled.
For the color, we chose a rich auburn tone applied as an all-over color that isn’t fully permanent.
This approach sits in the middle ground between a toner and permanent color.
Why I often choose this option:
• It delivers saturated color without committing to harsh regrowth
• The fade is softer and more natural
• It works well for clients who want depth but prefer lower maintenance appointments
When clients come in wanting a warm brunette or auburn tone, we usually talk about how the color will grow out before deciding between permanent and softer options like this.
The final result is glossy, skin-flattering auburn with a haircut that creates visible fullness while keeping her length intact.
👉🏼Worth saving if you’re deciding between richer color and long-hair fullness.

“What’s the difference between seamless gray blending and traditional gray coverage?”
The difference is how the color behaves after you leave the salon.
Rather than fully saturating the root, this service uses highlights and lowlights in foils to diffuse the gray into the existing color. The result is a softer transition that stays refined as it grows—without the stark line that comes with solid coverage.
This is ideal for clients who want their hair to look natural week after week, not perfect for one week and urgent the next. It’s not the right choice if you want zero visible gray at all times, but it’s a strong option when longevity and wearability matter more.
When clients come in, this is one of the first conversations we have—how polished they want the hair to look between appointments, not just on day one.
☝🏼 Helpful to reference before choosing a gray-coverage approach.

Looking for gray coverage that still looks dimensional and natural on curly hair? This service focused on permanent gray coverage designed to flatter—not flatten—her curl pattern.
Her starting point was visible gray and curls that had lost their volume and shape. The color plan created a natural brunette base that softly fades into a warm chocolate auburn, so regrowth feels intentional instead of harsh.
The dry curly cut was done curl by curl, shaping the hair in its natural state to restore bounce, sharpness, and movement without relying on styling tricks.
Result: seamless gray coverage, healthier-looking curls, and shape that holds as it grows.
Maintenance stays realistic with color every 4–6 weeks and a cut refresh about every 3 months.
👉🏼Save this if you’re navigating gray coverage with curls and want it to feel effortless, not heavy.

Not all blonde maintenance has to feel high-commitment.
Foil highlights were used to reintroduce brightness where it matters most, while a bond reformer helped maintain softness and elasticity during lightening. The grow-out stays subtle and forgiving—no harsh lines.
Finished with face framing and long layers to bring movement back around the face and keep styling effortless day to day.

We added texture without thinning the ends, shaped the haircut to move naturally, and designed fringe that works with her cowlick instead of hiding it. The result feels effortless but very considered.
As she grows out her gray, today’s color focus was minimal—just a cooling toner through the ends to keep the look polished without disrupting the process.
This is the kind of haircut that grows well, styles easily, and doesn’t demand constant upkeep.
One of the most common requests I hear: “How do I get volume without curling my hair every day?”
Cuts like this are my answer.
By carving soft, feathered layers through the crown and framing the face with a fringe, her naturally straight hair can air-dry with lift instead of lying flat. The butterfly silhouette keeps her fullness while adding movement through the mid-lengths.
Perfect for low-maintenance styling and maximum shape.
Save this if you’re growing your hair but want more motion.

From warm auburn to dimensional chocolate brown—a seamless gray coverage that still feels vibrant and full of movement.
The goal: a tone that reads neutral-warm without the red undertone, paired with strategic lowlights to add richness and shadow through the mid-lengths.
We softened her fringe and reshaped the outline to support her grow-out from a bob, keeping everything cohesive and low-maintenance between appointments.

Fine hair doesn’t have to mean flat hair.
This cut uses internal texture—placed within the shape rather than on the surface—to create subtle lift and natural movement without the “helmet” effect layered cuts can sometimes cause. We kept the perimeter clean and added wispy curtain bangs to soften around the face.
We enhanced her natural midtone brown with a warm-neutral chocolate glaze, perfect for catching light in all the right ways.
