One of the NUMBER ONE conversations I have in my chair is about dry shampoo… so let’s talk about it! 🌸

If you’re someone that doesn’t understand the hype behind dry shampoo or feel like it doesn’t work you’re NOT alone! I used to say the same. exact. thing. Until I realized not only was I using the wrong kind. I was using it wrong!!! 😱

Dry shampoo should be used as a preventative NOT as a cover up. Use it on day 1 fresh/clean/dry hair to prevent oil from touching your hair. Dry shampoo acts as a barrier between the oil and your hair strand. If you’re only using it once the oil is already present it’s just going to mix with it and make things worse! Crazy right?!🤯

The Fresh Affair is my absolute FAVORITE because if it’s different technology that no other dry shampoo has. It uses a rice starch to absorb the oil (kind of like when you get your phone wet and so you put it in rice) so it’s not a powdery texture mess. It ALSO has Vitamin E do double as a “dry conditioner” to keep hair soft and supple. 🫶🏻

When I use it I spray it immediately after I blow dry my hair (or let it air dry) and then I use it as needed at night before I go to sleep throughout the week. That way it has time to absorb overnight 🥰

We’ve spent months getting her hair wedding ready and the big day has finally come! 🤩 and yes… that’s all her hair.

Sienna was ready for a major refresh to switch it up a bit!
She loves to embrace her natural color and tones while enhancing it at the same time! She’s a dedicated athlete so her hair is always pulled up or in a braid! The challenge was to keep it looking as natural as possible while maximizing the amount of brightness we put in so what did we do?? ✨PEEKABOOS✨ that way when he hair is down straight or pulled back it maintains that natural look, but when she wants a pop of brightness she adds some curl or switches up her part. This is one of my favorite techniques! It is possible to have the best of both worlds! Ask me about it at your next appointment ☺️

If you like to be a bright blonde and I’ve done your hair then you know I’m a big fan of just using purple shampoo to help you achieve that bright look. HOWEVER, doing this means skipping the toner/gloss/glaze portion of the service which has so many other benefits to it other than just toning… did you know this??

A toner/gloss is CRUCIAL in balancing your hair’s PH after a chemical service. Why is PH important?? When using lightener/ bleach on your hair it makes it very alkaline on the PH scale which is 🙅🏼‍♀️ toners/gloss is very acidic which is 👍🏻 it’s a very important step in restoring the balance to your hair so I simply make a “0 pigment gloss” to not only restore the balance of your hair but to add INTENSE shine and moisture!
