6 Mistakes people make applying Eye Cream!

👁1- Using too Much
The skin surrounding your eyes is a small area. A Pea sized amount is enough to cover both eyes. Most eye treatments & creams come at a higher price so you’ll get the most bang for your buck!

👁2-Applying it out of order.
How you apply your skincare products matter. General rule for eye cream, if it’s thicker than your moisturizer it goes on top, if it’s lighter than serum it goes under your moisturizer.

👁3- Using on Dry Skin
If you want to get the most of your eye cream apply it to damp skin, this locks in hydration keeping the skin soft and moisturized. Before dabbing your skin dry after cleansing, tap the eye cream while skin is still damp.

👁4- Placing too close to the eye.
Eye cream should be placed about half inch under the eye in a semi-circle shape, dot along orbital bone, and right under your eyebrow. Getting too close by applying on the eyelid and near the lash line, there is a risk of migration to the eye causing burning and irritation.

👁5- Harsh Application
The skin surrounding the eye is the most sensitive skin on the face. It shouldn’t be handled harshly. Blend the cream with the ring finger, which has the most delicate touch, by gently dabbing and tapping into the skin. Using a cool rollerball for the application can prevent harsh application while also helping with de-puffing and provide a lovely face massage (Yes please 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️)

👁6- Moving too Fast
You should give your eye cream some time to absorb before applying any make up products on top. It keeps the eye cream from shifting when make up is applied on top.

Top 5 Reasons to clean Make Up Brushes

The application of Make up and Painting have been compared due to the nature of the artistry similar between both.

1 • unlike painters, make up artists don’t wash their brushes every day turning masterpieces into flops or more precisely breakouts.

2 • our make up brushes obsorb everything from powder and cream formulas to dirt and oils that form into bacteria and fungi that sit on the bristles for weeks. Uneven make up, clogged pores, skin irritation, pink eye, and most horrendously, bug, yes you read that right bugs!

Don’t believe me, watch the steviemiller video showing bugs growing in her make up brushes from 2015!! Just disturbing!!

3 • Why it’s important to clean makeup brushes?

Keeping your tools of the trade, brushes and make up applicators clean is a must for your makeup routine not only for hygiene purposes but for the overall performance of your brushes. You wouldn’t use a eye make up brush with black shadow on it to do a n**e eye? Would you?

4 • How often should you clean your brushes?

Brushes used for face/check powder should be cleaned once a week, while brushes used for cream and linguists such as foundation and concealer should be cleaned daily. Anything that touches the eyes and lips should be cleaned daily also.

Note: Synthetic brushes are easier to clean

5 • what should be used to clean brushes?

A simple mixture of mild shampoo and running water should do the trick and you should let the brushes air dry. For those on the go and traveling a lot can use a simpler option and use Botanical Brush Cleanser. You simply cleanse the brushes a few times and then swipe back and forth on paper towel for quick drying. Since the spray dries quickly, it’s especially great if you need to reuse a brush right after cleansing.
