Recently, I switched from mostly airbrish and cream foundation to Prolongwear waterproof foundation to be mindful of the absolute sauna that is New Orleans in the summer. I am often skeptical of product claims, but I had a chance to test the waterproof claim with a underwater shoot about a month ago. When I tell you the makeup did not move 🤌🏽. I said, "THIS IS WHAT THE PEOPLE NEED" 😂😂😂
I'll be keeping this going from here on out. Every summer, we will be waterproof. To my brave July and August brides, I got you covered!!
These looks also show a bit of the range of the product. The foundation itself is about medium-full, but is very flexible. It can be sheered down or built up, which is an essential quality for my kit. We were able to create a full coverage bridal look as well as minimal, natural coverage look for kid-friendly makeup.
What are some of your favorite NOLAproof foundations? I gravitated to MAC because I had experience playing with it from working there. What other brands do you find give coverage and stay put in the summer? I'd love to try something new!

Whoever said that was right 😂 In my quest to create content, I stumbled upon a recording of one of my favorite looks I've ever done on for her shoot with a year or so ago. Here's a look into what my process is like. I usually collaborate with my clients to achieve their look goals, so if there is not a specific inspiration, I kinda just let it flow, start with skin, and build from there.
Skin is the star in this look, created using SB foundations in 003 and 006, and Slay All Day setting spray melted everything together for a medium-full coverage look that glows. The lip is some LE MAC products so I'm not even going to go there lol. Closest match is Nightmoth liner and Smashbox Yes Honey mixed with a reddish magenta.
I'll probably share a few more things from the archive soon. I'm really not good at social media so bear with me 😂. Every time I try to make videos, something happens (like when my phone glitched out and I lost everything lol) so yall keep ya fingers crossed for me. I'm trying 😂😂😂

Beauty mix! A little bridal airbrush, a little traditional, some special event makeup, and a dash of headshot makeup from the past month or so.💄
The past couple weeks have been super busy with conferences and editorial work. Ahead, tons of headshot work, a bit of creative work, and then ESSENCE! I am so excited for Essence fest this year! I can't wait to see yalls looks and outfits!!! Who are yall most excited to see this year?? The first concert I ever went to was so I'm definitely excited she'll be back in NOLA! 😍
