Weekend Recap:

Saturday I was blessed to attend a Mid- day brunch with . It was an Honor to be surrounded by so many wonderful Creators in a creative space. Getting to meet my internet Curl-friends was a blast. We were able to get to know each other better! 💓

I also hit 10K at the beginning of the month & I’m so surprised we already peaking 11k! So many new people joining the community. I’m happy to welcome you all to a warm- hearted side of instagram. We don’t gate keep & we sure do both Hair & Skin Care. So if you are interested in both or just one- that is totally fine with me.

On May 22nd 2022 I graduated from St. John’s University with my B.S in Biology 🧬 To begin with, St John’s wasn’t my dream school- in fact I never had a dream school. Every school I applied to my senior year in High School I got accepted into. My only dilemma when choosing a college was whether I wanted to stay in my hometown or go away. So why St. John’s you may ask? Well not only because it was different from every other CUNY but because for some reason it felt like It was my place to be. Despite my hatred of commuting via train back and forth from my home to the university I knew one day it would be worth it.

On the other hand, COVID was a hard time for us all. For me the discomfort came from my academics. Being cooped up in my room for a year because my mom was teaching in the dining room resulted in me losing myself. I lost myself in ways I never knew would affect me. Returning back to in person classes- I had to relearn myself. Learn what strategies made me ace my exams, my quizzes and do well on assignments. What strategies increased my ability to go to next level. I struggled that first semester during my senior year but all I can say is I gained my myself back. I gained my self- confidence and I received that through all A’s.

After a long 4 years I will walk away with confidence not just in my victories but also with my down falls. The failures I never spoke about, my daily breakdowns nobody ever saw. The inability to balance the two sides of me ( content creating and my academics). But most importantly I can say St. John’s shaped me. Being in college taught me that it’s okay to go through 4 years and have only 1 friend, it’s okay to cherish those unhappy moments because it’s all about what happens at the end.

& to my angel above , I did it Grandma I know you’re proud 🥹👵🏽
