Have you ever wonder what’s triggering your acne? 🕵️‍♀️Here’s a great informative post from breaking down some sneaky culprits.✨

CELLPHONES: you touch so many things all day and then touch your phone to your face.. this can lead to acne because of the bacteria on your device! clean your phone weekly if not daily.

ANIMAL PAWS: as much as I love putting my cats paws on my face and giving them kisses, they have so much dirt and grime on them… my cats walk on my pillowcases as well which spreads bacteria and f***l matter from the litter box.

FABRIC SOFTENER: fabric softener can clog the pores because of the waxy residue they leave behind, in addition, the fragrance can cause irritation.

TOOTHPASTE: the ingredients in toothpaste can be pore clogging and irritating. Always brush your teeth before you wash your face to make sure you don’t go to sleep with toothpaste residue on your face.

B12: B12 increases the amount of that vitamin on facial skin. This, in turn, causes a certain facial bacteria (propionibacterium acnes) to produce more of something called porphyrins, which results in inflammation and acne.

FOOD RESIDUE: I don’t know about y’all, but I’m a MESSY eater. When eating wings, tacos, burgers, etc, make sure you are wiping away any food residue so that acne does not form.

SUNGLASSES: let’s be real, when’s the last time you wiped down your glasses or sunglasses with a disinfectant wipe? Make sure to clean them regularly to prevent bacteria spreading.

HAIR SERUMS: there are many hair serums that contain pore clogging ingredients. Make sure they do not come to contact with your skin. Make sure they aren’t dripping down your face!

PILLOW MISTS: I love a good pillow mist, but I don’t love random breakouts. Pillow mist can cause breakouts from the oils and ingredients used residing on your clean pillowcase.

While ingrown hairs are most commonly associated with shaving, they can also crop up after tweezing, trimming, or even waxing!

This picture and removal of the ingrown hair was taken during the middle of our Detox Facial!

Our medical aesthetician applied warm compressions to the area, cleansed and extracted it using sterile equipment. We then use high frequency ⚡️ to zap the extracted area to bring oxygen and promote healing.

2 days later, our BH patient is all healed up after the ingrown removal!
