One minute we were celebrating the miracle of life—my sister carrying our world in her womb—and the next, everything went dark. Marcela hasn’t opened her eyes since. They tell me her body is tired, that the end might be near, but they don’t know the woman I know.
Marcela spent every waking moment pouring love into our twin boys before they even took their first breath. She hand-picked every blanket, painted every wall of the nursery, and dreamt of the day she’d finally hold them. She is the heart of this family, and a heart that full of love can’t just stop.
I refuse to say goodbye. I am standing in the gap for her, believing that the same God who gave us these babies can bring their mother back to them. 🙏
