Many years ago, I thought I was living my best life! I was a young female surgeon in a male dominated field and feeling like I was making a difference in the world and in my career. (Pictured here is me being silly with a colleague at our friendβs wedding, and then me now!) Little did I know then that there would be so much more for me! I would have 2 amazing beautiful daughters who incidentally have special needs, and I would be so lucky to be their mama! Fast forward a few years, my job as a urologic surgeon was no longer as fulfilling as I struggled to have better work life balance. There were more demands from admin to see more patients and there was also a huge pay gap between my male colleagues. I felt like I needed to do more to build for my children. After I was fired from that Urology job at 8 months pregnant, I had no choice but to start from scratch to make a living to take care of my family! Fast forward a few more years of transitioning to aesthetics and realizing it is fulfilling to take care of patients that value me and knowing that I have full autonomy.
