The question isn’t whether you “can”.
The question is whether you’re getting the same experience, safety, and results.
Professional dermaplaning isn’t just about removing peach fuzz. It’s about proper skin analysis, technique, sanitation, blade angle, pressure, and knowing when a client is—or isn’t—a candidate for treatment.
A Ti**le razor may remove hair.
A professional dermaplaning treatment is designed to safely exfoliate dead skin cells, enhance product absorption, create a smoother makeup application, and support overall skin health.
The tool doesn’t make the treatment.
The education behind it does. ✨
That’s why investing in professional treatments and professional education will always matter.

Girllll...some treatments should not be DIY’d 😭
Microneedling done incorrectly at home can lead to barrier damage, infection, scarring, and post inflammatory pigmentation. Not cute.
It’s time to log off and book the appointment.

Microneedling isn’t just creating “microinjuries” it’s triggering a very specific healing response within the skin.
From inflammation to collagen remodeling, the skin moves through multiple phases of repair after treatment, each playing a role in strengthening, rebuilding, and improving overall skin function.
This is why results from microneedling are progressive, not immediate. Real collagen remodeling takes time.
Understanding the healing cascade is what helps set realistic expectations and create better long-term outcomes.
Many esthi’s ask us: “How are you able to offer microneedling?” 👀
The answer is: medical oversight and compliance.
In New York, microneedling has historically fallen outside the standard esthetics scope because it involves creating controlled micro-injuries to the skin, meaning it may require proper medical oversight depending on the treatment and setup. There is proposed legislation to expand estheticians’ ability to perform microneedling, but understanding current compliance is still important.
A Medical Director is not just someone who “signs off” on treatments.
A compliant setup should involve structure behind the scenes, including:
• Licensed medical oversight
• Written treatment protocols
• Proper consent forms
• Scope of practice review
• Client documentation & charting
• Emergency procedures
• Appropriate client screening when needed
This is why advanced treatments are about more than just adding a service to the menu.
It’s about safety, responsibility, protocols, and making sure you’re protecting both your client and your business. ✨
