Does copper peptide work? Your copper peptides probably aren’t doing much anything. We know it works in cells - but that doesn’t mean it works in skincare. And here’s an example of how it gets pitched as a miracle.
Boom - 55% wrinkle reduction. 31.6% more effective than Matrixyl 3000. Pretty crazy, right? Every single one of these numbers falls apart when you actually read the paper.
The placebo was just a plain serum with nothing in it - and it reduced wrinkles 15% on its own. So the copper peptide is barely 10 points better than rubbing anything on your face.
Now the Matrixyl. They didn’t actually test Matrixyl 3000 … they tested a product that contains Matrixyl 3000. And they never tell you how much. Could be 0.1%, could be 5%. We have no idea.
And it gets worse. They don’t tell you how much copper peptide is in their own serum either. On top of that, they never test the delivery carrier by itself - so we can’t tell if it’s the copper peptide doing the work, or just the carrier making everything else absorb better.
