A young lady told me that she wishes to become a model but she doesn't feel like she has a good chance because she doesn't look as good as the models seen in magazines and on social media.

When I showed her this picture of me without makeup, poor lighting, no re-touches, airbrush or filters then a professional picture that has been digitally manipulated she understood that the audience only sees the best part taken at a photoshoot.

After looking at my picture of ma real self (probably thinking damn what a hot mess🥴🤪🙃😆 LOL) now she feels confident to give modeling a shot and not compare herself to other people's images. She told me if she never becomes a model she will try her best to stop comparing herself to others.

Thank you to my friend for sharing this front cover of a Financial Manual in Florida. She was pleasantly surprised to see my face while studying for her exams. Lol. Hopefully my big wide smile brings her good luck. 🤩

I remember doing this shoot with my acting husband for the day. This is an example of character modeling. Acting out a character during a shoot. There's lots of work for this type of modeling. You can be of any height, weight, size or shape.

Strategy:
If this is the type of modeling you want to get into practise taking candid action shots with a friend. E.g talking, cooking, cleaning, walking the dog..... any everyday activity.
Take shots and send the best ones to commercial modeling agencies so they can see how you look on camera. Look meaning not how beautiful but how natural.

Practise your poses with a photographer or a friend with a camera phone and listen carefully to the directions given to achieve a great shot. Try to do this as often as possible and remember to stay safe and keep your distance.
