After an incredible 5 years, we have come to the difficult decision to close Cupid and Psyche Beauty as of October 1, 2023.
For everyone that has followed our evolution, thank you for your support and encouragement. The last couple of years have been an incredible experience for us. We have worked with extraordinarily talented people to bring our vision to life and we appreciate every bit of it! Our sales helped support many animals in need and our proud of what we accomplished!
Although we had good sales and secured a range of retail partnerships and press (including Nordstrom, Travel + Leisure, Forbes and The NY Times) the color cosmetics space remains challenging for indie beauty brands.
The personal cosmetics space has always carried a competitive edge, requiring high lots of capital to support marketing and retail sales. However, the Covid and post-Covid environment posed an exceptional challenge for lipstick makers among the larger landscape of small independent beauty brands. Despite our hard efforts to bounce back, we have exhausted all options for scaling and finance at this time.
We are incredibly proud of all that we have achieved at Cupid and Psyche Beauty. We are beyond grateful to our retail partners, customers, freelancers and influencers that worked with us over the years.
Now onwards our next rebirth! You may see us in a different form one day soon!

The story of Rauni:
Rauni is the goddess of trees and a bringer of life. Rauni and her husband, thunder god Ukko, are revered as the parents of all of earth’s plants. Rauni came to earth as the resilient rowan tree. Just as the rowan is able to thrive in poor growing conditions, Rauni will invite abundance and provide spiritual protection as you face any of life’s trials.
Wear this enchanted forest green to harness the sacred force of nature and the earthly wisdom of Rauni herself.

Named after the Finnish goddess of the Rowan tree.
According to the Finnish mythology, Rauni comes to earth disguised as a Rowan tree. She becomes mother earth’s first tree sprouted. Rauni first flew to earth and observed there weren’t any trees or plants. Her partner, the thunder deity Ukko zapped her with a lightning bolt and thus, she birthed a Rowan tree and the origin of all plants.
The Rowan tree also known as the Witch tree and Rune tree is a symbol of protection in Celtic Tradition.
This olive green with gold shimmer nail lacquer is going to be ready for fall and holiday!
