Tapping into some of the menswear trends we've see on the runways this past week, Ricardo Seco paid homage to his recent move to Williamsburg, crossing "the intersection of Hassidic and hipster," as he said, for the collection he showed last night at Eyebeam Gallery. Merging a layered disheveledness with a dark palette of blacks, grays and whites with shots of green, luxe fabrics like leather and cashmere, velvet and wool with cotton, and oversized jacket silhouettes tempered by skinny trouser shapes, the clothes were styled with yamulkes and pe'ots to acknowledge Seco's interpretation of "Urban Orthodox."

NYC Fashion Week is almost a wrap...Wednesday's schedule was a mix of talent...emerging name w Brandon Sun, powerhouse designer w Nanette Lepore...Hollywood gal Rachel Zoe...France's luxe leader J. Mendel...

Beyond the halfway mark, Tuesday's schedule included 12 presentations...Red carpet creations with Badgley Mischka, luxury with Vera Wang, salon dresses + gowns from Jenny Packham, bedazzled gowns from Naeem Khan...

A smiling Mickey Drexler had reason to be happy this morning at the J. Crew presentation at The Studio. The women's collection mixed trends of vibrant patterns, colors and cool accessories, all inspired by the design director’s recent trip to Marrakesh. The men’s wear was classic J. Crew, very traditional, easy to wear. Best piece men's? The patched and somewhat distressed oatmeal-hued sweatpants. Best piece women's? The mosaic tile vibrant coat.

The eagle did land, as promised, at Mark McNairy...after pumping up the audience with "The Ride of the Valkyries" before the show, the designer treated us to an all-American inspired collection that featured hopsack sport coats, varsity jackets, Adidas track jackets, bow ties, buffalo plaid hoodies and camo tuxedos...women's wear borrowed from the boys with harris tweed coat dresses, puffy down jackets and double-breasted topcoats for her. It was a refreshing, wearable, saleable collection with just the right amount of whimsy and caprice for today's contemporary guy.

Eleven official shows on the runways in the tents w one unexpected headliner on Monday evening...Marc by Marc Jacobs made MJ history by presenting in the tents for the first time (Mr. Jacobs has always opted to show his collections offsite)...So far, validated trends include: fur + leather, lots of green, fancy outerwear, graphic prints for day + evening...

A BIG Sunday with BIG name designers including: Tracy Reese, first-time NYC presenter Trina Turk, international labels, iconic labels like DVF + Ralph Rucci...Another full house day but some fashoingoers brought family members to check out the scene (yes, babies in front rows on mother's laps)...

Day 2 at Lincoln Center offered looks ranging from black leather and lace embroidery on dresses....gowns w alligator insets....sparkle tweed skirts + pants...at Carmen Marc Valvo. Vibrant shades of red and burgundy...bow blouses...long floral print gowns at Noon by Noor. Chunky sweaters...skinny trousers...black crackled shearling jackets at Nautica.

Women's fashion from Day One F/W 2013 was fluid, floaty, punched up with shine or feminized with graphic prints.

Refined and rebellious. That was Todd Snyder's take on menswear for his "Rebel Gentleman" collection presented today at The Box at Lincoln Center. Brit influenced, with fabrics and silhouettes that brought to mind "On the Waterfront," "Rebel Without a Cause" mixed with a bit of Bond - leather layers, cuffed stove pipe pants, turtlenecks, midnight tux fur trim collars and sharp cashmere suits with a dash of flair and panache, Snyder's iconic message was loud and clear.

Great use of color like electric blue for suits, candy apple red for topcoats, with Japanese denim/dark + light wool trousers w inverted colored cuffs/leather baseball jackets...the design duo at Duckie Brown always surprises and mesmerizes.

Day One at Lincoln Center saw top menswear executives, editors and retailers taking note of the wearable menswear trends surfacing. Our pick for the best bets? Layers and length in dark, dramatic or military-esque hues. Bundle up, it's gonna be cold out there!
