Between ombre powder or nano hairstrokes? 🤔 (client above has ombre powder)

Here’s where each technique really shines:

OMBRÉ POWDER
• ideal for clients that fill in their brows for fullness (less visible gaps/skin)
• helps create balance when natural brow growth is uneven or asymmetrical
• tends to last longer on oilier skin types
→ overall effect: more polished, defined, and makeup-like

NANO HAIRSTROKES
• ideal for clients that want to enhance what they already have, not replace it
• works best with good natural hair flow to blend into
• creates a softer, more diffused result with visible skin between strokes
→ overall effect: more natural, airy, and understated

Both are beautiful — they just serve very different goals. So clarifying your goals for your first session is KEY 🔑 then we intensify at a touchup if needed.

Ill always guide my client toward what will actually give you that result long-term.

HEALED BROWS NEXT SLIDE ⏭️

If you want an airy, soft brow… we NEED gaps.

Nano hairstrokes only look realistic when there’s space between them. That’s what keeps them looking like hair — no chunky lines.

This technique is meant for clients who don’t want a makeup brow.
Think: an elevated version of your natural brows, not filled-in glam.

Leaving intentional gaps = better healing, less risk of blurring or migration, and results that age well over time.

If you’re someone who prefers a fuller, more filled-in look (less gaps), nano alone won’t get you there.
We’d either add shading or go with an ombré powder brow for that density.

SHAPING RED FLAGS 👀 READ MORE ABOUT HOW WE SHAPE FOR BEAUTIFUL RESULTS.

🚩 If I have to remove too much of your natural brow
I won’t recommend that shape.

Taking off most of your brow for the sake of symmetry might look good short term, but long term it leaves you with very little real hair to support the tattoo.
That means more maintenance, less natural healing, and a result that doesn’t age well.

🚩 If the shape sits far away from your natural brow
I can’t keep it soft and make it look connected.

Permanent makeup heals under the skin — not on top like makeup.
If there’s too much space between your real hair and the tattoo, the only way to make it look cohesive is to go darker… and that defeats the goal of a soft, natural result.

How to prepare for your brow appointment ⬇️⬇️

✅ Check out my website for full view of precare (and aftercare) instructions!

Clients that prep well for their brow appointment are more likely to heal better and faster, retain more color, and experience less redness/itchiness and more for the days to follow.

✅ Have a general idea of your brow goals!

Are you booking your appointment to mimic your daily brow makeup? If so, have a few pictures ready to show for your appointment.
Are there specific shape goals that you have?
How intense do you want to go? Are we going for undetectable or are we going for polished and photo ready?

✅ BE REALISTIC!

Your starting point matters. If your brows are uneven, sparse, or have previous work, your results may take more than one session to complete.

Inspo photos are great for vibe but not exact replication because everyone client starts with a different hair type, skin type and will therefore heal differently.
I’ll always guide you toward something that fits your face and ages well ❤️

Because pictures just aren’t ENOUGH ‼️ enjoy some clips of nano hairstroke work to see the flow and pattern

Hairstroke patterns are intricately designed to blend into the natural hair when healed which is why we always want to work off the natural hair growth and natural brows 😍

3+ years later… after only 2 sessions 👀🤍

No yearly touchups. No constant maintenance.
Just healed, long-term results ✨

If you’re wondering how long YOUR BROWS will last, here’s the truth:

It depends on a few key things ⬇️
• Depth of color → darker = longer lasting
• Number of sessions → building properly = better retention
• Skin type → drier skin holds pigment longer

💡 After your first session, it is completely normal to need a touchup.
Your first ever brow session builds a foundation and the first touchup perfects the details to keep them soft, natural, and long-lasting.

Once your ideal result is reached → future appointments are just maintenance, not starting over 😌

As for timing… it’s personal:
Some clients come back at 20–30% faded
Others wait until they’re almost gone

There’s no “one rule” — it depends on your lifestyle and how you like your brows to look 🤍

If you want results that age well, healed results matter more than day 1. Always.

If your brows look like this, here’s what you should know ⬇️

If you have gaps, uneven growth, or a softer natural shape, you’re probably already filling in your brows to create more fullness and symmetry.

And when you fill them in, you’re not just adding “more hairs”…
you’re creating a soft, shaded base so everything looks complete ✨

That’s where choosing the right technique matters.

Nano hairstrokes 🖊️
• Mimic individual hair strokes
• Still leave natural spacing between strokes
• Best for clients who already have a strong shape + just want to add detail

Ombré powder ☁️
• Creates a soft, filled-in effect (like makeup)
• Adds density + structure underneath
• Helps the brow look more complete without daily filling

💡 A lot of clients think they need more hair → so they choose nano
But what they’re really looking for is fullness, balance, and shape

If your goal is to stop filling in your brows every day,
ombré powder is usually the better fit 🤞

Client took a day trip to NYC for her brow appointment and we had such a fun girly day ❤️

Nano + Combo brows on a client with light, fine brow hair.

She usually uses a light brown brow pencil to fill her brows and ideally created a straighter straight with a soft arch. Her goal was to create a result that made filling them in easier and wanted to add natural soft texture to her brows.

Based on her preferences, she’s a great candidate for nano combo brows! In a nano combo brow, the entire shape is filled with hairstrokes and we sprinkle in shading for depth in between the strokes.

When this style heals, her hair strokes will mimic her natural hair density (light, fine, and minimally textured) and the shading will help deepen the fill at the ends of the brows.

Her goal was to have the choice to fill them in when she wants to and to have color and shape without brow makeup! The definition of nothing too light and nothing too dark ❤️ if this client profile sounds like you, mention a combo brow at your appointment so we can explore what that will look like for you!

Clients with the best nano hairstroke results typically fall under these categories:

• Normal to dry skin (less oil = better stroke retention)
• Smaller pores / smoother texture
• Natural brow hair to blend into
• Realistic expectations (soft, hair-like ≠ makeup brow)
• Healthy skin (not inflamed, compromised, or overly exfoliated)

‼️‼️‼️‼️

Now, does this mean you can’t get nano hairstrokes if you don’t fall into these categories?
Not at all.

It simply means you may require:
• Additional sessions
• More frequent maintenance over time
• Or a combination approach for the most stable, long-term result

At the end of the day, I don’t assign clients to one technique.

Nano hairstrokes are the softest and most minimal form of pigment, which makes them incredibly versatile — but also more dependent on your skin.

My approach is always to choose what will heal the most predictably and age the most beautifully for you.

NANO HAIRSTROKES ⬇️

It’s giving FLUFFY, AIRY, LIGHT, UNDETECTABLE

Nano is great for bringing back shape and body to the brow. The perfect shape enhancement that permanent makeup can offer. I don’t recommend nano as much for clients looking for darkness and color because hairstrokes are meant to be undetectable!

If you’re looking for a darker look but love nano hairstrokes, let’s discuss a combo brow next 😍 (hairstroke technique + ombre shading)

Sometimes the goal is just SHAPE and NOT DARKNESS ➡️ NANO HAIRSTROKES

If you’re looking to fluff up your natural shape, nano hairstrokes can be the perfect technique for you.

To maintain the integrity of your hairstrokes overtime, we need to be intentional about how dark every hairstroke can be, how we shape the brow, and how many strokes we can add. After healed, you will see beautiful, soft and fluffy hairstrokes but that also means you’ll see some gaps in the brow!

The biggest misconception about nano ➡️➡️ we do not completely fill the eyebrow! The nano hairstroke technique INTENTIONALLY leaves gaps to keep the appearance of a hairstroke and to allow for proper fading over time. So if you’re looking to minimize gaps in the brow, we can try a shading technique instead!

Some unedited upclose shots of my ombre powder work 🤧
I’ve been doing ombre powder technique the longest in my career and I’d love to share all the pros about it and how it built my clientele since DAY ONE ❤️

✅ Most of my clients want something LOW MAINTENANCE. To them this means: less touchups over time, a shape that holds up the longest, and a more straight forward solution to their daily brow makeup.

✅ If you’ve been filling in your brows the same way for years, you’ll probably love ombré powder for SHAPE.

If you don’t have much brow hair, you’re usually filling them in for color AND shape — and that’s important.

Hair-stroke techniques can look natural and will definitely fill the brow, but they don’t give enough depth if you’re used to a filled-in look.

✅ Ombré powder is 100% CUSTOMIZABLE.

• Softer front → less pigment, less structure
• More defined front → more layering
• Sharper tail → added depth only where you want it
• Soft, diffused look → borderless technique (no harsh outline)

Same technique — completely different results.

Everything is adjusted to match your client preference. It’s never a template!

✅ HEALED RESULTS MATTER.
