Flu activity continues to rise across the United States, reaching the highest level ever recorded, according to newly released data from the CDC.

📌 About 8% of all outpatient visits are now for flu-like illness — higher than any level seen since records began in 1997.
📌 Flu-like illness includes fever along with cough and/or sore throat.
📌 So far this season, the CDC reports at least 11 million illnesses and 5,000 deaths, including nine pediatric deaths.

Health officials urge the public to stay alert as hospitalizations continue to increase.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced Friday that it has issued Level 2 travel advisories for Cuba, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Guangdong Province in southern China, advising Americans to “practice enhanced precautions” when visiting these areas.

Health officials say there are currently no treatments for chikungunya, but the disease is vaccine-preventable, and vaccination is recommended for travelers to affected areas.

Sitting for just two hours straight can be harmful, according to Apollo Hospitals.

Experts often compare prolonged sitting to smoking because of its serious long-term health risks.
Extended sitting weakens posture, strains the spine, and stiffens veins.
It also slows circulation, raising the risk of heart disease and diabetes.
Office workers and students glued to screens are especially vulnerable to these effects.

Nothing kills you faster than chronic worry.

When you stay trapped in constant anxiety over things you can’t change, you’re not just losing your peace of mind—you’re quietly injuring your physical health.

Persistent worry keeps your stress-response system permanently switched on, flooding your body with cortisol and adrenaline. Over time, this chronic activation grinds down essential systems: it suppresses immune function, leaving you more prone to infections and possibly even cancer; it drives up blood pressure and hardens arteries, sharply raising the odds of heart attack and stroke.

The fallout continues. Excess cortisol throws digestion into chaos, sparks frequent headaches, and locks muscles in painful tension. On top of that, many people cope by overeating, smoking, or drinking—habits that pile on even more damage.

Letting go of what’s beyond your control isn’t just good emotional advice; it’s one of the most powerful things you can do to protect your long-term health.
