I’m finding difficult to believe what is happening. It’s definitely not a done deal but we can all feel how close it is. This is not only a good thing for NYC, it’s good for the NBA. The ratings are through the roof. Two more, Let’s Go Knicks!🧡💙🏀
In July of 2024 I had the great opportunity to study for one hour, one on one with the great Will Kennedy. If you don’t know he is the drummer in the band, “The Yellow Jackets.” I ask about the Songo groove. He told me it was advanced and he was right. I was determined to learn it. Still needs improvement but at least I can play it to Music. That’s what I’m doing here, the music is through my headphones. This way I can listen to what I’m doing right and wrong. Thanks again to Dennis Richie, owner of the Original Long Island Drum Center. He has great events there quite often.

I have always felt that a mother’s love was irreplaceable. This is true in the human world, as well as the animal world. As a big fan of “Animal Planet” and “National Geographic”, I love to see documentaries about animal mothers nurturing and protecting their young. They will do anything to keep them out of harms way, even if it means risking their own lives. These mothers also spend a great amount of time teaching their offspring how to survive on their own.
Our mothers are very much the same. They work, go to school, serve in the military, function and thrive in a male dominated world. They do this all for the benefit of their children. They protect us, warn us of the dangers of the world and teach us about surviving on our own.
It is fitting that flowers are a very traditional Mother’s Day gift. Aside from the beauty of a floral arrangement, tree or plant, flowers represent mothering to me. If you protect and nourish a flower, tree or flower it will grow and blossom.
I would to thank my Mother for all of her protection, nourishment and love. I extend this thanks to all of the mothers of the world. We, your children do appreciate it even if sometimes it doesn’t seem so.

Just another beautiful spring day in the city. You see all kinds of crazy, weird and funny things. In spite of all of its troubles I still love NY!
“I Talk to the Wind” is a beautiful tune by the band, King Crimson. It’s an old tune that I have only been aware of since last year. Greg Lake from, Emerson, Lake and Palmer was in this band.
Another rendition of the Bill Evans tune, “Nardis.”
Always love to play this one.

If I’m not behind the chair, I’m in the gym, on my bike or at my kit! Always be creative and try to always find something to be happy about. Those of us who love what they do for a living and have hobbies or pastimes that we love are extremely fortunate. Find your Joy!

The, “Good Hands Drum Shop” on West 30th Street in NYC is one of my favorite places. Great ones and a crazy selection of new and used drums, cymbals, hardware, accessories, sticks, brushes and percussion instruments. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They have a resident teacher, Ron Tierno who is an amazing drummer. Search him out on YT. The owner Jess is really cool, Ed and Brandon treat me like family. The other really cool thing is that it’s a real Pro shop. Look who I ran into last Tuesday. If you don’t know, that’s Brian Blade. It was really cool talking with him and letting him know that I’m a fan.
