Ever wonder why your skincare doesn't feel as "alive" when it comes from a massive warehouse? 🌿
The truth is, big-box brands often prioritize shelf-life over ingredient potency. At Earthy Girls Beauty, we do things differently. As a Doctor of Functional Medicine, I believe your skin deserves high-vibrational, plant-sourced ingredients at their peak freshness.
That’s the beauty of small-batch. Each jar is crafted with intention, ensuring that the botanical actives are as potent as nature intended. It’s not just skincare; it’s a fresh, mindful ritual from our hands to yours.
Choosing small-batch means you’re choosing ingredients that haven’t been sitting in a shipping container for months. It’s the human side of beauty: intentional, fresh, and made with love.
Ready to feel the difference of truly fresh skincare?

Some of these brands don’t show up for Black women…they show up when it’s time to profit from us.They see our buying power… and suddenly the romance starts.
They get very intentional about centering Black people, Black women especially—but only at very specific times:
Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Black History Month.
Juneteenth.
The holiday season.
See the pattern?
That’s when the messaging shifts.
That’s when we suddenly become the focus. When you start seeing “Black-owned” everywhere.
And then their consistency changes.
No real engagement.
No connection beyond the campaign.
And if I’m being honest, some of it feels manufactured.
So here are a few things I personally pay attention to:
1. A page that suddenly appears—or gets very active—around key cultural moments
2. You check Page Transparency and realize the page is new, recently renamed… or managed overseas
3. The brand has changed names multiple times or has a vague, hard-to-follow backstory
4.The content feels generic… like it could apply to anyone. A lot of “relatable” or first-person stories, but no real people connected to them
5.The comments/reviews feel off… repetitive things like “I got mine” or “I love it” with no real detail or personal voice
6. Heavy use of Black imagery, but no visible Black leadership or presence behind the brand
7. Little to no engagement with the community unless something is being sold
I’m not saying every brand is like this.
But I am saying:
Every brand that markets to Black women is not necessarily rooted in or accountable to us.
Pay attention to who shows up consistently… not just seasonally.

"Identical twins Dor-Tensia and Lor-Tensia Hayes left Detroit without even the assurance of an agency in Paris."-Barbara Summers
"We learned to walk watching 'Style' with Elsa Klensch on TV."-DorTensia Hayes
"They're hot right now."-Mikki Garth Taylor (1991)
"Lor-Tensia and Dor-Tensia Hayes made a splash in November's fashion shows in New York when they strode down the runways side by side like matched thoroughbreds. But the 5-foot-10-inch 21-year-old beauties don't want to spend the rest of their lives in tandem. Each wants to make it on her own."-Anne Marie Schiro
"Just because we look alike, it doesn't mean we are alike."-LorTensia Hayes
"They're very supportive of each other. And they complement each other. Lor is very cool and casual, while Dor is more energized, very concerned and questioning."-Bethann Hardison
"People think we're stuck together and are afraid to hurt our feelings by hiring one of us, but we're happy for each other."-DorTensia Hayes
