Wave of Light

Tonight, we join hearts across the world in lighting candles for the Wave of Light — a global moment honoring all babies gone too soon.

For me, it’s a gentle reminder that though their lives were brief, their light continues to shine — in memory, in love, and in every life they’ve touched.

Over the past 8 years, I’ve had the honor of helping over 100 women begin or maintain their journey—many still travel from NJ just to sit in my chair. Some couldn’t make the trip but stayed in touch, and through it all, I’ve gained more than clients—I’ve gained community.

One of those connections, Dr. Peace and Love (as I affectionately call her), has become a dear friend and writing partner. She recently surprised me with a beautiful article that truly blessed my heart.

Whether I’m serving as a Sisterlocks Consultant, Therapist, Coach, or Educator—this is my calling. And I will continue to make my mark and bless others along the way. 💫💛

Friendship in Unknown Places 8am on February 5, 2022 was my first appointment with Simone…I didn’t go looking for a friendship that day. I was just trying to get my hair done. It had been one of those weeks where everything felt…

I like to support small businesses especially those that are black-owned but this one is near and dear to my heart. Jai's bod butter was created by a little girl that I've watched grown up over the years. She is now 9 years old and has created this line of product that caters especially to those with sensitive skin. Tried and tested and I love it; not too greasy but very hydrating.

One of the things I like to do when I'm not working, is cooking. It's one of the ways I show love. Sunday dinner Jamaican style... rice and peas, pepper steak, French fried chicken and a salad. Only thing missing is "plant'n/plantin/plantain🤣.

So I did "a thing". A big chop! Snippetty snip snip. I have had a few hair cuts over the course of the 18 years that I've had sisterlocks. A little change is good. Thanks to Vondrea at Top Notch Beauty. It was good catching up.

Coming out of "retirement" for this lovely lady. I rarely do establishments anymore due to being blessed with loyal clients as well as to take care of my body. Every now and again though, I meet someone who I will pull my tool, back brace and compression socks for. Looking forward the outcome in a few weeks.

Royal Rootsz is deeply saddened by the passing of my client Tracy. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family and loved ones. Tracy's presence will be greatly missed.
