I’m unapologetically deeply feeling and my thoughts on Mother’s Day are no exception. Some of my earliest memories are of wanting to be a mom, and the privilege is not lost on me. My hope is that heaven means getting to spend time with my babies at every age again, because it goes by so heartbreakingly fast. I’m grateful for the gift of time with my endlessly loving, supportive mom. I’m deeply moved at the thought of those missing their moms, and those aching to be moms. I share in the excitement and overwhelm that comes with being a mom-to-be and a new mom. I’m grateful for a solidarity like no other in truly seeing moms in the thick of juggling life—our hardest work and greatest joy. Thankful for friends who nurture the same way mothers do.
Much like any fleeting, breathtaking sky, the beauty and complexity of motherhood is impossible to capture in one moment. Last night’s sky was no exception, and I’d like to think it’s a gift from all of our angel moms and babies.
Mothering the mother shouldn’t be reserved for one day. I’m so thankful that my life’s work is mothering our children and walking alongside women throughout all of womanhood.
I hope you know that the same support that you so freely give to others is out here and ready to embrace you fully 🤍
