She has been down all the wrong roads,
Chosen all the wrong ones to love,
Kissed too many frogs hoping
That her love would transform them.

But they were never princes to be found,
The ones that left and broke her heart,
Those were just the lessons she needed
To learn to recognize true love’s kiss.

Her heart was torn and her soul was weary,
Tired of the games men play
Feeding their egos and making false promises
Never truly intending to love her completely.

Until him.
He took down her walls by just being himself.
He loved her purely and unconditionally,
Loving her in a way she’d never known.

She didn’t trust anyone anymore with her heart,
But he did whatever it took,
Day by day and promise by promise,
Until she finally started to take down her defenses.

She’d always known what she wanted
How she yearned to be loved and
What her happily ever after would look like,
The feelings of her dreams, evermore..

And as she gazed deeply into his eyes,
Her heart gasped and her soul smiled
As she saw the answers to all the hopes
She had always wanted to believe in.

She knew, in that moment, that he was the one.
She knew she was loved completely,
That she was finally safe and most of all,
That their love was absolutely forever.

She was the one with a huge heart, doling out love without ever expecting it in return.
She loved intensely, for she found joy in it, without any expectations.
She wasn’t naive or blind, she just always believed in the good of people and gave everyone the benefit of the doubt..
Even when they turned their backs on her and tore her heart in pieces.
Deep down, she knew the risks, but she refused to become jaded or change how she lived…and loved.
Time and again, she’d kiss a frog hoping he’d become a prince..only to find out his ugly truths the hard way.
But that didn’t change who she was or how she lived-
She would always listen to her heart and pursue passion fiercely.
She forgave when she knew she shouldn’t, she loved fully in spite of the risks and she never turned her back on the people she loved…
Regardless of how often she was hurt.
She gave them chance upon chance, believing they were good people..until they ultimately proved they weren’t.
Because when she was done with someone, she was utterly done.
No more chances, forgiveness or one more tries.
Done.
The ones that stayed were her heart and she would do anything for them.
The ones that burned holes in heart as she was trying to love them…
She let them go and never looked back.
It hurt her heart, but she knew that she had poured every bit of love and compassion into those people, but they’d never treat her the way she deserved.
So she let them go and walked away.
She knew love was a fiery chance, burning her to the ground as much as it would spark her passions and desires..
She just didn’t care.
She was strong enough to pick up the pieces and knew that finding her future love would take effort and courage,
So that’s just what she did.
She followed her heart, loved hard when she could and if she got hurt, she picked up the pieces without ever slowing down.
She was determined to find her love story, and kept leaping into the fire..
She knew that sooner or later, she’d find the one worth being burned for.
Until then, she’d live fully, love hard and keep going.
Strong, beautiful and free.

In fact, it was those same dark days that she was brought to her knees that forced her to grow stronger and get better-
And she didn’t have anyone to back her up, stand beside her or help her..
She’s battled much of her life alone and isn’t afraid to take on anything or anyone because of it.
She never really had a choice after all-
The road she’s travelled and the life she’s lived have been forged in the fires of struggle.
She’s not the one who will ever complain, get down or bemoan the hardships that she faces..
No, she’s the warrior spirit, risen from the ashes of failure, an unstoppable Phoenix who doesn’t know what it means to quit.
She’s not going to back down from a challenge or be disrespected by anyone..
Especially not a man.
They’ve all tried their luck with her and while they claimed to admire and enjoy her fiery spirit and spunky attitude, they all soon realized that her personality was very real.. and would never acquiesce to them just because they were wooing her.
No, those who pursued her heart she held to an even higher standard-
Class, respect, courtesy, honor..
She expected to be treated as she deserved and given what she gives those in her life.
So, when they tried to tame that strong woman that refused to fit into a box or he defined by anyone else, they quickly realized she would never be the one to stroke their egos and feed their desires the way they were accustomed to..
Because she’s so much more than just a woman,
She’s a fiery, passionate and strong woman who knows what she brings to the table..
And she’s not afraid to eat alone.
