Island Toned launched in 2017 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The brand came to fruition due to founder Simone A. Scott not being able to refer her clients to a sunless resource for spray tans. She struggled to identify a permanent brick-and-mortar location in the Hampton Roads area that focused on inclusive spray tans.

Simone knew if she could apply her knowledge of cosmetics and principals of the skin, there would be an opportunity to create a true luxury tanning experience.
