The before and afters

This guy finally cut his hair and wow what a change.

Now he’ll be able to keep his hair out of his face while playing baseball (the inspiration for the cut).

I offered to cover his face if I could post this new haircut because if I know anything it’s how easy we old people can embarrass teenagers. I really appreciate that he allowed me to post this.

What a big difference college makes. A snip here and there also makes for a new grown up experience!!!

Musical Theater Major

I still remember her singing every Disney song on the radio as I first did her hair at 12 or so.

Look it!!!! Linda listen. Honey!!!

My arm is free of the cast and I’m excited to say I am now booking for the first week of June and there after.

More good news, if you have your vaccine you can bring your card and show it to come into the shop without having to wear your mask.

It is a must to show it so if you don’t want to show your card, that’s not a problem, just wear your mask.

It’s that simple.

I’ll be wearing my mask until the guidelines change but you are more than welcome to go mask free in my chair with the proper validation. How exciting for folks!!!

What had happened was....

I’m going to be 50 in August and I still think I’m young. I rolled on some skates and then the DeLorean’s (my favorite local 80s throwback band) started playing David Bowie let’s dance ...and before I knew it my wrist was connected to the floor and I was smashing pumpkins.

I guess you can’t become a rollerskate dancer in a day.

Random facts

My wrist is broken
6 to 8 weeks in a cast
No surgery needed (they assess as of now)
yes it hurts
a little bit not too much
I have a splint on it now and next Wednesday I’ll have a cast.
My dogs have no sense of personal space and now that I’m injured they are “momming” a little bit extra.

I’m not too worried about things because I just survived a pandemic as well as you did (so let’s give ourselves a round of applause for that) and I did raise a child on my own since she was three years old. If I can do that...she’s 24 now and other than me wanting to shake her every now and again for her snotty talk ,I think I did a good job.

So a little broken wrist ,maybe some downtime might do me some good.
Business wise, of course I won’t be doing hair for a little while, however, if you want to call me and ask me to refer you to someone that will fit your personality or your needs I will help in any way.

Although my styling business is independent I do work under the umbrella of Edward Johnson Salon and I work with a wonderful group of stylists who are there and ready to help take my clients and fill in for me while I can’t.

Their number
(757) 228-1597

... our salon coordinator Autum is ready and willing to get everyone on the books with someone.

However if you do miss me and want to see me and all of my awesomeness, you’re more than welcome to come buy me a cuppa coffee at Stellas café on colonial Avenue . I’ll most likely be there ,all the time, annoying the patrons like normal. Luckily for me I’ll have my cast to block their rolling eyes or the glaring stares I’ll get from my horrible comedy that I’m going to attempt on all the people until I can get back to work.

And if you have any other questions or life emergencies that you need my mom and Virgo skills to solve let me know.

She said, “it’s been a long time. How blond can we go in one session? I just had a baby and want to be as light as we can go safely.”
I said, “let’s find out!”
And then she sent me a thank you text from her and her husband this am.
Sometimes it’s the little victories that keep you doing what you do.
