BARBERSHOPS have traditionally been the hub of their communities. I continue to believe this. The Barbeshop, historically, has been a place where gentleman, young and old, can put the stresses of life aside for a small amount of time and relax. If you look at the historical impact that Barbershops have had in their communities dating back years and years ago, Barbers were called upon in times of emergency for the use of their business for many community events. Weddings, funerals, community and Town Hall meetings, religious meetings and Bible studies, poll sites for voting and even surgeries and dental procedures! At one time, Barbers were the only persons or business in town that had a chair that reclined! This helped with surgeries such as appendix removal, the birth of children and tooth extraction. The local Barber Shop is the Central Hub of the community even to this day! The Barbershop has always provided a sense of normalcy, routine and structure to the community and many individuals. A father and son can instantly walk into a Barber Shop and pause time, even for a brief moment, and then walk out feeling a sense of pride, dignity and even reenergized to face the stresses of life that come back to reality once back out the Barbershop door.

I look forward to providing gentlemen a place to feel "normal" and also provide some sort of routine, regularity and comfort. No matter what, Viking Barbershop will continue to be there for you and our community.
