That’s what my client, Rebekah, expressed to me at the end of our appointment.

It’s taken all of her adult life to find a professional stylist who could make her hair goals a reality. From color to cut to styling her curls (that she could actually wear out of the salon).

I don’t say this to brag. I say this to hold my industry accountable.

People with coils and curls deserve a professional experience they can rely on. They deserve expertise from a licensed professional not just someone on the internet with a camera and a ring light.

We should diversify our set of skills to encompass all people, all hair, all the time.

Alternatively, if you haven’t honed your skills for all hair types, diversify your network of stylists to people who don’t look like you or who service people with a hair type you’re not familiar with. This shows solidarity within our industry.

31. Living life with purpose ON purpose.

Eternally grateful for all the love I’ve gotten over the weekend - I love yall back soo much 🤍 31 years of love and life and 19 years of being chronically ill - I brought in my birthday with a phenomenal party on Saturday then turned around and got a port placed the following Monday. Cause duality and divine timing will always be the theme of my life.
