High lights and low lights

My dad passed away on December 3rd at 6:30pm. I am beyond devastated and heartbroken. But ever since he moved here four years ago, he filled my life with lessons, love, and wisdom that I will carry forever. I know he will continue watching over us.

He was strong, generous, and wise in a way few people are. He always taught us to love instead of fight, and to let go of the things we cannot change. Every day he spent here in California—finally living close to his kids and grandkids—meant everything to him. He was grateful for every moment: a phone call, a conversation, or simply being together.

He was deeply loved by his friends, cousins, and family. We each have our own memories of him—being silly, funny, making us laugh—and also the quiet moments where his wisdom would shine through. He lived life fully and encouraged us to do the same. He told Siena to live her life her own way, to have no regrets, to make mistakes but learn from them, to acknowledge when you hurt someone, and then do better. That was his motto, and he lived by it.

His presence, his laughter, his advice, and his love will forever be a part of us.
