Do you have a friend, who no matter the time that elapses or what is going on in your life, can be called in an emergency? One who encourages you when something traumatic occurs? Val has been in my life for over 25 years - for the ups and for the downs. We may go long stretches of time without seeing each other, but I know that she is there for me, like I’m there for her. I love her positive outlook in the midst of stressful and trying times. I adore her hilarious personality … I still think she should have a second career as a “clean” stand-up comic. Her unique perspective in Bible studies has challenged and encouraged me. I can have deep and confidential conversations with her because I know that she will honor my feelings and not share with others, but will pray for me and celebrate with me. She is genuine, and if she is a part of your life, she is all-in. Val is an amazing teacher, evidenced by the strong relationships she still has with kids she taught 30 years ago! I am grateful to have a friend like Val and just wanted to give thanks today for ALL the women in my life who have blessed me with their friendship.

When I was young, I was a daredevil. My high school friends and I jumped off the cliffs at Clearwater Lake and I had no fear of heights. Then . . . I had children! My legs now turn to jelly and shake whenever I get close to a ledge. Don't get me started on the Grand Canyon with four kids - one trying to rope his siblings on dirt paths near the edge! Glass partitions/half walls on the upper floor of the mall make me nervous. But, with peer pressure comes the ability to overcome such fears. I rang the bell on this rock wall - only once, but I did it. My youngest son's "bucket list" has only death defying things on it - he better do them before he gets married and has kids - he has my genes after all! :)

A neighbor introduced me to Young Living Essential Oils in 2002. I used them faithfully for years to help my family stay above the wellness line and I shared them with many people. Unfortunately, I didn’t become a distributor myself because my neighbor sold them to me at her cost.

2008 to 2011 were some of the most difficult years of my life. In 2008 due to a downturn in the economy and other business issues in my ex-husband’s company, we had to move from the home we built. In January of 2009 my mom died in the hospital after choking on a doughnut 2 days after elective back surgery. Five months later, my dad, who had been battling bone and bladder cancer, passed away as well. In late 2010, after 23 years of marriage, I discovered my ex-husband’s infidelity and unwillingness to seek counseling or change his behavior. In early 2011, I made the decision to file for divorce and shortly thereafter found myself being foreclosed from our home. When I received the notice, I had two weeks to find a place for my children and me to live.

My adrenals were burned out, my internal organs were either not functioning or inflamed. I hadn’t eaten in months, my cortisol was sky high in the morning and continued to rise throughout the day. I was a skinny fat person. There were days that I couldn’t get out of the car and I sat in the garage until I could muster up the energy to go inside my house. Through many miracles and God’s provision, I found a nice home I could afford on my salary and once the stress of the divorce was final, I took stock in my life and health. I realized that I had to get some help quickly.

In addition to seeking assistance from a nutritionist, acupuncturist and chiropractor, I remembered my oils and knew that they needed to become a part of my healing process. I immediately went to the Young Living website and signed up as a wholesale member so that I could enjoy 24% off. I also joined the Essential Rewards program.

The doctor had prescribed hundreds of dollars of supplements to improve my health and heal the systems in my body. I had to take digestive enzymes 20 minutes before I ate or I couldn’t digest my food. They cost between $70-140 a month and were very restrictive as far as the timing of my meals. With Young Living, I was able to replace the digestive enzymes with DiGize oil, a blend of Tarragon, Ginger, Peppermint, Juniper, Fennel, Lemongrass, Anise, and Patchouli, which I could take before meals, during meals or even hours after a meal if I forgot. I got out my Essential Oils Pocket Reference and poured through it to find other products and oils that would help to support my journey to wellness.

I use my oils faithfully and am amazed at how many lives they have changed, including my own. I used to live on Naproxen for back pain and haven’t needed a little blue pill in years! I am proud to represent Young Living, founded by D. Gary Young, who pioneered the essential oil industry. We produce the purest and best products without chemical solvents and without cutting corners. Young Living’s Foundation serves people all over the world, demonstrating generosity and godly business practices and exemplifying the highest integrity. Young Living completely covers the foundation’s administrative costs to ensure that 100% of all donations go directly to those in need, every time! What a blessing to be part of this company which
• Builds homes in Nepal
• Donates water filters to Puerto Rico
• Built Young Living Academy in Chongon, Equador
• Hope for Justice in Cambodia to end human trafficking and slavery in our generation
• Sole Hope in Uganda offers hope, healthier lives, and freedom from foot-related diseases (jiggers) through education, jobs, and medical relief
• African Hearts is a rescue program for children living in the Kisenyi slum, considered the biggest slum in Uganda
• Healing Faith Uganda provides malaria education, prevention, and treatment to families and children

Now 6+years later, I am extremely thankful for God’s provision, grace and mercy in my life. He has brought me a godly and loving husband and restored my ability to trust. He’s also given me purpose in sharing and teaching about oils with others and in encouraging those who have experienced divorce through the Divorce Care ministry my husband and I lead at our church. My other job involves working with grade school kids and I can honestly say that I have more than enough mental and physical energy to keep up with them! I find great satisfaction in helping others to discover ways to improve their health and wellness and am happy to meet with you!

Everyone who knows me knows I don’t wear makeup (except mascara and lipstick). I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve put on foundation, eye shadow, blush etc. so I was a little wary about trying the new line of makeup from Young Living for myself. I bought one of everything to have classes for other people to be able to try…but today I finally took the plunge to see what it would look like on me! What do you think?

Health effects of bismuth
Bismuth and its salts can cause kidney damage, although the degree of such damage is usually mild. Large doses can be fatal. Industrially it is considered one of the less toxic of the heavy metals. Serious and sometimes fatal poisoning may occur from the injection of large doses into closed cavities and from extensive application to burns (in form of soluble bismuth compounds). It is stated that the administration of bismuth should be stopped when gingivitis appears, for otherwise serious ulceration stomatitis is likely to result. Other toxic results may develop, such as vague feeling of bodily discomfort, presence of albumin or other protein substance in the urine, diarrhea, skin reactions and sometimes serious exodermatitis.
