Searching for a front desk coordinator!!!
All of these things are a MUST:
- not afraid to talk to people
- comfortable booking appts
- social media skills
- light cleaning(folding laundry, sweeping),not scrubbing toilets or anything like that.
- must be fashion forward
- must multitask
- be comfortable counting and keeping inventory.
- no drama.
- be self starting and not having to be micromanaged.
- not smoke weed(I don’t care if you have a license and it’s legal)

This job won’t make you 6 figures a year, but it’s fun and easy and can be very rewarding.
I’m only interested in people who have a legit résumé and are willing to work and will go through an interview process. I have gone through so many front desk people that haven’t worked out. Myself and the girls at my salon desperately would love to utilize someone to help us out and be apart of the family.

So, myself and this gorgeous lady were chatting today and a topic came up about people showcasing bad work.
Here’s my thoughts….
Does showcasing you are better than someone at something really make a difference in your business?
Does basically making fun of someone’s shortcomings make your work look that much better?
I still get annoyed seeing “not my work” posts. It’s like grow the f**k up.
I could showcase those types of pics ALL DAY. And I have. And I didn’t know any better.
I just remember back in 2014 whenever I first learned how to do handtied. I was AWFUL. Literally the first person I did them on was my receptionist. I put way too much hair in. It ended up matting and coming loose and we had to actually cut out the wefts. She was devastated. I was devastated. And I felt so bad I was like there’s no way I’m ever going to do hand tied or there’s no way I’m ever going to be good at this.
Now I imagine what if I would’ve seen that on a social media post saying this is not the way to do it and my way is better? I would’ve been mortified and felt even more worse than I already did and even more discouraged and hopeless.
I have actually seen one of my clients on another salons page and it says the whole “not my work” bit. Was I embarrassed? Sure. Does anybody seeing these posts know the backstory? They don’t need to. They don’t need to know that my client rarely wanted to come in and waited 10 weeks until move ups. They didn’t know that she randomly had her family members color her hair when I couldn’t. They didn’t know that her hair was a tangly mess every single time she came to see me. And I still felt stupid. And I didn’t need to defend myself at the time and I’m not defending myself now. I already knew that I did good work then. But it still hurts.
I honestly feel for the girls and guys coming out of hair school with such energy and positivity and then it’s like this industry can chew you up and spit you out so fast.

Well and with the help of and also with then we are a match made in Heaven.
I am only accepting new extensions clients.
I only take 1 client at a time(sometimes 2 ONLY if I have an assistant handy), so I may be booked out a little far. It’s about the experience. I don’t want anyone to feel rushed or stressed or to feel like they didn’t get exactly what they came for.
Every stylist has their days where they have been running behind(myself definitely included). But with that being said I generally, on a normal day,only take about 3 clients.
Getting sick with Covid and having to squish back in about 40ish clients has been pure hell. I havent been on social media, I haven’t been with my family, and I haven’t had a break at all. Not complaining whatsoever. It has just shown me I HAVE TOO MANY CLIENTS!!!
I’ll be closing a couple of days a week and every other Saturday and any appointments after 330 depending on the length of the appointment.
I love all my clients and stylists and I’m super grateful! There are other things I’m needing to work on besides being behind the chair so much! If you need a referral, I will be stoked to give you one!!!
