Well, it's happening again. A study has been done about a chemical used in gel polish product determining that a chemical in the polish can affect fertility. Problem though is how the study was done. The chemical was given to rats/mice ORALLY. Which means ingested. NO nail product chemical should be ingested. So again, alarm is raised because a study was done not according to how the product is used in day to day life.

I want to reassure all my clients — this study, recently, done is misleading. The ingredient in question is TPO (Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide).

Important facts:
• Gel polish is not banned, just the chemical being used, in Europe/UK.
• There is no confirmed link between gel polish and fertility issues

I checked with a nail chemist expert in our industry and he has reached out to the EU/UK giving his insight on this recent study and the flaws that were present in this study.

This is the problem with these Russian manicures some shops are pushing. This is a perfect video to show there was not a thing wrong with this person's nails or cuticles. No dry skin anywhere, no pieces of cuticle sticking up anywhere. This tech is cutting the nail fold off. This poses a risk to the client to getting infections.
