So, Where is this Dry Slot Mike Morgan is forecasting today?
The National Weather actually officially describes a dry slot as a cloud free area, among other things but I will let that suffice. So what does a REAL dry slot look like? The first satellite pic is of a winter storm many years ago. The dry line is picked out and well define being sucked into the center of the surface Low.
Here is the Regional Visible satellite. One, there are no cloud free areas and there is no well defined surface Low. But help me ! I may be mistaken but do you see a cloud free area in the Texas Panhandle or Oklahoma?
Breaking News...Punxutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning and this means a longer winter....6 more weeks.

TV Weather people's Snow forecast
Mike Morgan KFOR: 8" Last night he had 2-4"
David Pain KWTV: 4-7" Last night 4-7"
Damon Lane KOCO: 3-6" Bates said 3-4" last night
Jeff George Fox25: 3-4" last night 3-5"
National Weather Service: 3-5" same as last night
These number are from their graphics NOT what they say because Morgan was all over the place with his amounts and what he was saying did not match what he had on his graphics.
Also all this talk about dry slots is just that ...talk. Its to get you to watch and is silly. The reason why western Oklahoma and points west will see less snow then east of I-35 is simple.. Gulf moisture return is a max from I-35 east. No dry slot.

Winter Weather Watch #10....Updated model snow forecasts.
The NBM is an interesting model. It takes all the models in the domain of the United States and is an average of all models in the domain. Great model to filter out weird stuff.

Weather Advisories...Updated Noon Tue...No surprises. Winter Storm Watches are being converted to warnings and many NWS Snow Forecasts are up a few inches.
Personal recommendations. Because of some reckless comments by KFOR and KWTV, I recommend you watch KOCO-5 or Fox25 for your Live Weather coverage tomorrow and Thursday.
