This is exciting! And I can’t wait to be back in the salon!! I miss my clients and I miss doing what I love! ❤️ This was a tough decision to make but I will be one of the few stylists that will be waiting until about mid May to decide when I am ready to be back in the salon and behind the chair. Please know that this is new to all of us and I really appreciate your patience. I want to keep my family, my clients and my clients families safe and healthy! As the next few weeks go on updates will be announced and I will keep you all in the loop! ❤️

MOXIE clients and staff,

First and foremost, THANK YOU for your continued support and patience during the last six weeks. We could feel the positive vibes and prayers sent our way. As you have been expressing your excitement with our ability to legally open on May 4, we have been discussing what it’s going to look like on our end with the new health mandates, restrictions, and sanitation requirements. We need to make sure that we proceed with caution and are able to properly protect our service providers, clients, and their families. We are restructuring the way in which we will conduct business within the parameters we were given. So, even though we were given a green light, we are going to ease back into the salon over the next few weeks.

Stage 1: May 4-9th is for all MOXIE staff and their immediate families. This week will allow them to learn how to work within the boundaries set before us and I owe them this transition time.

Stage 2: May 10-16th allows 5 to 6 more stylists to return to work. Within our square footage distancing was the biggest obstacle to overcome. No one is being asked to come back before they feel comfortable and it is my hope that some of the restrictions will be lifted with each passing week.

Stage 3: May 17–June 1st will begin the alternating schedule for the remaining service providers. The spa personnel will not be accepting appointments until June 1 unless the DHM lifts restrictions before then. It’s nearly impossible for them to provide services under the current restrictions.

⁉️ OK, so what does all of this REALLY mean? We are requesting a little more patience and understanding over the next few weeks. As a client you are required to wear a mask at ALL times. If you do not have one that loops behind your ears, we will provide you one for a small fee.

❤️ WE MISSED YOU! We would like to see all of you as soon as possible yet trying to accommodate roughly 2500 missed appointments between 10 stylists is overwhelming. Most of you will be contacted directly by your stylist, giving them full control over their schedules.

🚘 We ask that you wait in your car and we will text you when we are ready for you to come in.

😷 We are practicing the 6 foot social distancing rule as much as possible, wearing a mask and gloves for everyone’s protection, and hand sanitizer will be available for your convenience.

💜 We will not be accepting walk-ins during this time and although we love your referrals, the current client list is our primary focus!

🤒 Coming in sick is N0T an option. If you have a family member that is sick we also ask that you reschedule immediately.

🧍🏽‍♂️In order to keep the number of patrons at our legal limit we need to stress the importance of coming alone. This means we will only be servicing age 14 and up until May 31. I apologize for this inconvenience, but the limitations are necessary and temporary.

💸 Please understand that your stylist has already lost thousands of dollars in revenue and a no call / no show to your appointment will not be tolerated. Aside from being ill, we need you to arrive on time for your appointment. When given adequate notice that time slot could be another person’s appointment.

🏆 Purchasing retail and gift cards are a great way to show your support.

It is my hope that everything stated above is received with full understanding and grace is given to every Moxie team member going forward. This is going to be a long recovery process and we are going to go above and beyond for as long as it takes.

Sincerely,
Tara Seng and the amazing Moxie Team

Oh how I miss dressing up and going to work to do what I love the most! Super thankful I’m quarantined with my better half who also does hair. I know for many of my clients curling with a flat iron is difficult. So here is a quick video for another style to try with your flat iron! Love and miss all of my amazing clients!

As Leaders in the beauty industry we have made the difficult but necessary decision to protect the health of our team, our guests and community. As of Wednesday, March 18th, Moxie Salon and several other local, employee based salons in the area will be closed until April 1st. We are taking this measure in accordance with local, state and federal health recommendations. We believe it is in the best interest for the well-being of our teams, our community, and the world at large.

This is the hardest decision that myself or team Moxie has ever made. We’ve built this company and community over 6 years and have always grown stronger together. It's ultimately our community we will welcome back as we support each other to look towards the future.

The road ahead is uncertain, but we will do everything we can to make sure that the future of Moxie Salon and everyone that makes us great is better than before.

We want to acknowledge the leadership and responsibility being shown by these salon owners; Trios, Seven, Bellezza, Canvas, One Zero Four, Kinship, Roar, Bungalow/8, SISU, Craft, Hank & Ax, Reveal, Oliver & Tate, Stephanie Moss, and Avant. We are proud to be a part of this community and the resilience being demonstrated.

The State, and Federal Government have announced several programs for additional Unemployment benefits and other types of relief for impacted employees. Some announcements have been made, but all of the details haven’t been released. We will continue to follow up with all employees as soon as information is made available.

This is a time for us to remember our humanity and put people first. This too shall pass and we will be wiser and more thoughtful because of it. Stay present and love each other in new and creative ways.
Always,
Tara Seng

Freshening up those day 2 curls!

Dry shampoo and dry conditioner is my go to when trying to get by without washing! My ends tend to get dry (natural curly headed girl over here) so the dry conditioner helps smooth and freshen up my ends.
