Here’s a trick to keep your style lasting longer! When I sleep, I wear my hair in a loose ponytail right, smack, on the top of my head.
It prevents any curl from being worn down from all my tossing and turning.
It also keeps my skin clearer since the oils and product from my hair aren’t rubbing against my face.
Even if you have a shorter, bob style haircut you can do a half-up pony.
Unless you sleep like you’re dead and don’t move ⚰️. Then you don’t need to do this. 😂

There’s a lot of divide among the hair community and the overall public, in general, about whether or not we should be returning to the salon. We’re still navigating uncharted waters and I’m not taking any of this lightly.
Some say we NEED to go back.
Some say it’s unethical for us to go back.
Some are begging for our return so they can feel seen again. Feel heard.
I feel conflicted. But I have a family to provide for. I have a career I feel passionate about and I have a salon I LOVE.
These are crazy times y’all and I’m just doing the best I can. 🤟🏼

As I prepare this, I’m in the trenches of reworking my ENTIRE business. What used to be, is no more. And you know what, that’s ok.

It’s National Hairstylist Appreciation Day and I couldn’t be more honored to be a part of this crew.
We’ve been deemed non-essential and in some regards, I respect that. But ultimately we’re VERY essential to the many people that sit in our chair.

We grow up with these people.
We listen when they feel alone.
We give them a boost when s**t is hitting the fan.
We celebrate their wins.
We walk with them during this journey in life and WE LOVE IT.

There’s no way I would be who I am today if I wasn’t a . My clients have helped shape me into the human I am and I’m so grateful to them for that.

I’m also grateful for the community of people I’ve had the privilege to work with and continue to work with. Happy to my boss babes.

The end is near!
I am as anxious and excited as you are to get back in the salon. I am (im)patiently waiting for DHHS to release all the guidelines and restrictions for us upon reopening.

Bear with me! I know waiting has sucked and I know waiting any longer may not be what you had in mind, but your safety and my own is my #1 priority.

Please know that appointment times and availability will be affected to allow me time to disinfect and sanitize between each guest. I will be working additional hours and days over the next few weeks to try and accommodate everyone as best as I can. If I could work 24 hours/7 days I would, but I don't think you'd like your hair very much 🤣🤪.

I have appreciated all your support and patience during this time. You are exactly why I love what I do. Just hang tight, we're almost there!!!

It’s hair washing day! Nowhere to be, but may as well have clean hair. 😁😎

Here’s my lineup.
1. Eleven Australia Deep Clean - gentle but gets all the dirt, product and oil broken up!
2. Living Proof Color Care Shampoo & Conditioner. Love the scent and the UV Protection it provides. Plus it’s sulfate free, helping my color last longer. (Which we all need at the moment 🤪)

Since I only wash 1-2 times a week I start with a cleansing shampoo. I use a lot of dry shampoo, so I need to break it all up! Then I follow with my regular maintenance color shampoo and conditioner.

Depending on how dirty my hair is, I will shampoo with my Deep Clean 1x, then follow with my Color Care shampoo 1-2x. Last I condition!

Good news, we have all these wonderful products at Mint Hair Studio! Stay tuned for some curbside pickup options!!!! 😍😍

What were we doing before COVID-19? I hope we can get to that sooner, rather than later. 😔
This isn't easy and being the sole provider for my little lady trio makes this decision even harder, but I have a responsibility to my family, my salon, and my community to do what's right, as a business owner, a mother and a peer.
Alongside other community stylists and salon owners I will be closing effective immediately and will remain closed until April 1st.
I have spent the morning working to contact clients and will be continuing to reach out throughout the day.
It has been incredible to see the community support and I hope that this continues to makes us stronger.
