Where I’m from, we’ve always had a knack for doing a lot with a little. I wasn’t always proud of that, but over time I learned that making the most out of what you have doesn’t mean you aren’t worthy of more; it just means you’ll be ready when opportunity comes.

We might not all have a lot to give, but what we do have can mean a lot to somebody.

Sometimes when I put stuff down here I wonder how many of yall see it😅 But for those of you who do, thank you. I been mad stressed lately (who said a year was a long time to plan a wedding?) but I'm getting excited because it's almost time to marry the love of my life. That being said, thank you to the client's who have hung in there.
I pride myself on a consistent demeanor, no matter what I'm going through, and I know these last couple months some of you have seen the cracks from pressure. I feel like if you've known me for the 4 years I've been here and these last couple months are the first time you've seen me stressed, I'm doing something right. I am human. But, I'm eternally grateful to all of you for bearing with me, and supporting me to this point. Seeing close customers frustrated by ex*****on of policies that I built out of respect for yourselves and I reminds me even more just how special the community we've built here is. 100+ people dedicated to feeling better and achieving the best results out of life. All following common sense rules to make the system flow. If you dealt with the troubleshooting I do on a day to day basis, you would know how special that is.
I'll be carrying this gratitude with me on my wedding day as I humbly acknowledge that the life I've built here is based on the dedication and loyalty of my customers. Most of whom I proudly call friends. I don't have a big circle, simply by being my customer and coming into my sphere of influence you play a massive roll. I guard my thoughts and ideas jealously, so if I share them with you please understand you are special, and I appreciate you. Now book those appts please!🙏🏼 I got a future wife to spoil😄

I’ve eaten food from food banks my whole life. As a kid when my dad was in Iraq and my mom didn’t want to ask my uncle for grocery money, she would go to food banks. As a teen when I was doing landscaping and other labor jobs but probably only seeing $600 every two weeks, I would eat food from food banks. As an adult who had just moved to California, and had just got their own place, and just dropped everything into starting a business, I’ve eaten food from food banks. My mom had a boyfriend once who wouldn’t go with her to the food bank, but would eat the dinners she made with the food. From that I learned it’s foolish to be unable to provide while also being too proud to accept help. You accept help when you need it so you can get to a place to provide.
I am proud of Alex & I’s business, and that we’re finally at a place to give back. I have so many ideas of ways to give back to the community, but as you can tell this one is pretty close to my heart.
I also know this has been a transition time for the hair industry as far as charging our value, and I truly appreciate that most of my clientele has seen haircut prices double or triple in their lifetime. Barbering almost went extinct due to competing against each other instead of with each other and failure to raise prices with inflation over the years. While I’m committed to this industry and being on the cutting edge of what’s happening in it, I am also committed to my long term customers. I will find more ways like this to both offer discounts to my hardworking clientele while giving opportunity back to the community. Thank you all so much for your support.
