~Countdown to 30 years~
In July of 2014, I was given the opportunity to locate at Southern Sass Salon with Jodie Biber. We had never met before, but several people sent me information that she was looking for booth renters. We immediately hit it off. She had a few finishing touches to make to get the salon ready and I immediately jumped into action to help. I spent 5 years with Jodie and several wonderful coworkers. It was this move that I had come into confidence in my work and really grew my business. I look back with lots of gratitude for my time working alongside Jodie.

It wasn’t long after I made the move to Clippers we found out Eli was on the way. We made the hard decision while I was home on maternity leave the fall of 2008 to convert my storage building into a small salon so that I could continue my trade while also being able to care for Eli instead of daycare. This was my salon “home” until 2014.

TODAY marks 30 years since I was issued my first license. 💇‍♀️
December 17, 2002 is when I began my entrepreneurship. My mom and dad saw my potential and purchased my first salon and placed it in their backyard. I spent 5 years there. It was wonderful to have my children right there under the care of my dear mom. After her passing, it was too painful to be there without her so I made the move to Clippers.

From 1997-2002, I worked at Cost Cutters with a group of amazing women. I gained so much knowledge from their years of experience behind the chair along with classes Mr Shuler arranged for us. Each year we had a service banquet in the spring to reward all the stylists for their hard work during the past year. During these years, I not only worked to cultivate my skill, but learned about the business of running a successful salon.

As we gear up to my 30 year celebration next week, a little walk down memory lane. 30 years ago this week, I was awarded the Nathalie C Tant award for excellence in cosmetology. Today, I still strive to bring you my best. Thank you to my loyal clients for continuing to entrust your hair care with me. 🫶🏼

30 years next week and this is the era I live in now. I’m grateful for the clients the Lord has put in my chair. 🫶🏼
