If you take ibuprofen or drink alcohol anytime 24 hours before your appointment, you’re a LOT more likely to bleed more and to have poor retention of the ink due to the bleeding.

can still be done, but just know that it’s a higher chance of having to come in for a 3rd appointment (which is paid out of pocket by the customer) and can run the risk of overworking your , which can produce scarring.

And depending on your skin you may or may not be a candidate for a 3rd time.

Keeping your skin healthy is important!!

In this picture you’ll notice I’m using two fingers and stretching out the so I can see how deep the strokes are. is only supposed to be done in the top layers of the skin.

Because of that, I need to be SUPER light with the blade. And I’ll gentle pull the skin to see if I’ve achieved the correct depth.

If the blade is pushed in to the skin too far, this is when it’s a lot more likely to cause scarring and also can cause the strokes to blow out over time and no longer look like a crisp line.

Just another reason to make sure you go to someone who is certified so that you are less likely to get scarring and have the strokes blur!

Whenever is done, it’s best to pull the skin as taut as you can so that the strokes are as clean, and crisp as possible.

The best way to achieve that is using 3 fingers on the skin at all times. Two fingers on the non dominant hand, and usually the pinky finger on your dominant hand.

It’s not the easiest exercise to achieve, but once the finger placement is correct, those hair strokes are SO much easier. Using only
Two fingers makes it a lot more difficult because skin can move in all directions.

TRY IT! Put one finger on your forehead or cheek and move it in a small circle. It moved in all directions, right?

NOW place two fingers on your skin in the same spot. And one finger in the middle of those and try to move the middle finger.

What happened? You can move that center finger still.

So now try it with three fingers And place a fourth finger in the center of your 3 fingers and try to move it!

It’s a LOT harder to move.

In the exact same way with microblading. If you want the strokes to look like a hair and not a squiggly line, then 3 points on the skin is the way to go!!

Part 3 of eyebrow tattoo removal!

THIS PICTURE IS NOT MY WORK. This person came to me because they did not like the shape and color of the brows they’d received from someone else.

In this situation, the only possible thing that can be done is we can give her a powder brow and slightly fix her shape. But we cannot go lighter on the color or completely change the shape. We could warm up the color to a brown instead of the ashy color as well.

Anything else requires removal.

Usually when people think of tattoo removal for eyebrows, the first thing that comes to mind is getting laser removal.

In my opinion doing laser removal should be a last resort. When a laser is used it breaks up the ink molecules and pushed them deeper into the skin where they dissipate and are absorbed.

The problem with using a laser is that you have a HIGH CHANCE of also permanently removing your natural eyebrow hairs as well as the ink in your skin. 😱 not good.

There’s also a higher chance of scarring, and hyperpigmentation.

Also, laser removal is expensive.

So let’s protect your skin AND get the results you want!! 😍

Microblading and eyebrow tattoo removals!

In order to remove ink that’s been placed in the skin, the ink either needs to be brought out of the skin, OR the molecules need to be made small enough that they can be pushed deeper into the skin and absorbed.

The saline removal is the method I used. This bring the pigment OUT of the skin.

How long it takes for the brows to be lightened will depend on how long the tattoo has been in the skin, the skin maturity, how many times ink was placed into the skin, etc.

The best way to removal tattoos is as soon as possible! If you get microblading done and you hate it, it’s best to get it removed within the first 48 hours after the first procedure.

It HAS TO happen under 48 hours OR a minimum of 6 weeks after the initial procedure. Within the first 2 days the brows haven’t fully closed, so the removal process is pretty simple. After 2 days and before 6 weeks the brows are healing and you can damage your skin if you try to remove them in that timeframe.

By 6 weeks the brows are fully healed and we can begin to remove the ink. The procedure is very similar to how the ink was originally placed. But instead of using more ink, I use a solution to help bring the pigment out of the skin.

It’s so important to do research or ask someone knowledgeable about removals before you schedule any type of procedure.

Most people think microblading and eyebrow tattoos should be lasered off. But that’s NOT THE CASE!! See my next post to find out why!!

This machine is a tattoo gun!

You can use it for all the different types of microblading, but currently I only use it for removals!

If you’ve had microblading or eyebrow tattoos done that you don’t like, I can remove them! Typically it takes between 2-4 sessions to get eyebrows light enough to cover previous work.

There are a TON of different ways to remove eyebrow tattoos, but MOST are NOT HEALTHY and can be very DAMAGING to the skin. And yes, that includes laser removal.

The type of removal I do is called saline removal. It’s the healthiest and safest option for your skin. It’s very gentle (which is why it takes several sessions to remove it), but it can help prevent the scarring that happens with the other types of removal.

The picture isn’t super clear, but this is another type of blade used for microblading! This is called a a round shader.

This blade is only used in powder or ombré brows. Depending on what you are using the blade for you can have any amount of needles.

I use the highest amount of needles possible. The more needles you have the bigger space you can cover. I do powder brows manually instead if using a machine.

Most people use a machine, I like doing manual brows because I have a bit more control over the exact placement of the blade, and I want to be as precise as possible!

The tip of the blade is on the shape of a circle. And you do a tapping motion with it, instead of making lines.

Powder brows can be used in just about every skin type, whereas microblading can only be done in about 50% of people.

The powder effect looks very similar to makeup when people draw on their brows!

There are a few different types of blades that can be used for microblading! This particular one is called a U Blade. There’s also slant blades that can be used. There’s pros and cons to each type!

For each type of blade you can also pick how many needles that you want on the end.

Typically for coarse, thick eyebrows you can used bigger blades with more needles.

However, for all of my procedures I prefer less needles and a U shaped blade.

The less amount of needles means more work for me, but allows me to be more precise with each hair stroke.

Using a U shaped blade allows me to curve the hair strokes if needed instead of having only straight lines.

During every appointment I double numb the eyebrows so that you are as comfortable as possible.

BUT at the beginning I’ll ask you about your pain tolerance. If you’re worried about being in pain I will TRIPLE numb your brows. I want you to be as comfortable as possible.

I used the highest strength of lidocaine that can be bought over the counter. And then use an epinephrine and lidocaine combo throughout the rest of the procedure to keep you comfortable!

When doing mapping there are 3 main points on the face that I follow. The bulb of the , the arch, and the tail end. By using these 3 points I am able to figure out the best way to shape the brow using the natural angles of the face.

This is a HEALED color correction! This lovely lady had microblading done a few years ago with someone else and the brows faded to a red color. We adjusted the color back to more brown and stuck to the shape she already had.
