of the Day - Preventing skin damage from environmental pollution & UV exposure ☀️

Let’s talk pollution & UV exposure! Did you know that environmental pollution can DOUBLE the damage of UV exposure? YES! This happens after your bloodstream redistributes tiny microparticles of pollution (absorbed through your skin) throughout your body!

These microparticles create a host of reactions in the skin when combined with sunlight, like pigmentation and age spots, a decrease in vitamin C and vitamin E levels in the skin, fine lines AND wrinkles. Yikes! Talk about the importance of sunscreen.

BUT, you shouldn’t stop at sunscreen! Here are three other precautions you can take to prevent skin damage from pollution & uv exposure:
1. Invest in AIR FILTERS! Remember, you’re dealing with tiny microparticles, which sneak inside your home! Try searching for a quality air filter for indoor spaces.

2.Pay attention to your city’s AQI (air quality index number)! You can easily find your city’s AQI in your weather app on your phone. Avoid going outside when the air quality is bad!

3. DOUBLE CLEANSE. You don’t have to do it EVERY time you do your skin care routine, but try to incorporate it at least during your night-time routine.
