When The New York Times called, I genuinely thought it was a scam. Turns out, it was the real deal. The journalist mentioned they were covering the financial impacts on young widows and widowers. If they'd contacted me a few years back, I likely would've declined. My headspace wasn't the greatest for sharing then, but now I'm in a better place and glad to offer insights that could help others.

Over 15 years in the making. I’ve been cutting and styling here in central Florida. I love what I do. I love helping others and building their self-confidence. To some, it’s just a haircut. To others, it’s self-care. To me, it’s a form of love I try to put back into this world. Thank care of all my clients is such a blessing. I’ve grown with you all. We’ve watched each other grow. From the first days of school, graduations, weddings, and even funerals. People move and find new doctors, masseuses, and gyms, but what most people fear is finding a new barber and or hairstylist. One of the best decisions I made was to learn not only how to barber but be a full cosmetologist. You can thank my hair mentors, Dennis Mero & of course my amazing mother Lizzette Torres-Rosado. Thank you for teaching me and believing in me.
Now I’m paying it forward by bringing education for our assistants and fellow hairstylists. It’s a privilege to find something you love and make a living off helping to make people feel good.
