Did you know that how you wash and care for your hair can make a huge difference in its health, shine, strength, and even help prevent unnecessary breakage? While healthy hair growth starts at the scalp, proper hair care habits help you retain the length youโre working so hard to grow! ๐ฑ๐
Hereโs my stylist-approved routine for healthier, happier hair:
๐ฟ IN THE SHOWER
๐ง Brush or comb through your hair BEFORE washing to prevent tangles.
๐ง Shampoo TWICE! The first cleanse removes dirt, oil, and product buildup. The second cleanse gives your scalp a deeper clean.
๐ง Focus shampoo on your SCALP onlyโyour ends get clean when the shampoo rinses through them.
๐ง If youโre using a hair mask, apply it BEFORE conditioner.
๐ง Clip your hair up and let your mask sit for a few minutes to work its magic.
๐ง Squeeze out excess water before applying conditioner.
๐ง Apply conditioner only to your mid-lengths and ends.
๐ง Rinse with cool water to help smooth the hair cuticle and boost shine.
โจ POST-SHOWER CARE
๐งโโ๏ธ Use a microfiber towel or soft t-shirt to gently remove excess moisture.
๐งด Apply a leave-in conditioner to help with hydration and detangling.

Your hairbrush and styling tools work hard every day, but over time they collect hair, oils, product buildup, dust, dead skin cells, and bacteria. Using dirty brushes can transfer all of that right back onto your freshly washed hair and scalp. ๐ฌ
