OWOSSO – Author Karl Manke held a book signing at Owosso Books and More on Black Friday for his 4th Book , “Age of Shame.” The new book has just come out in time for holiday shopping. The time is 1940–1945. The place is Eastern Europe. A young Jewish girl finds herself suffering the retributions from the fallout of the N**i Germany’s “Finale Solution” to rid the world of Jews. At the same time a young German boy finds himself suffering the retaliation of communist Russia hell-bent on ridding Eastern Europe of ethnic Germans. Their lives parallel through these years and finally cross. What they discover is a kindred spirit that chooses life.

Karl, born in Elberta Mi. was raised in Owosso and graduated from OHS. Karl, a barber by trade, is an entrepreneur that graduated from Michigan State and spends much of his free time fine-tuning the craft of writing. Karl’s other books are Unintended Consequences, Secrets, Lies And Dreams, & The Prodigal Father. All four books are published by Alexander Books.

Karl is just finishing his 5th book that will be out next year named “The Scourge Of Captain Seavey” a fictional account of the only pirate ever charged on the Great Lakes. Karl’s Grandfather, as a young boy sailed with Pirate Captain Seavey as a cabin boy.
