Small business owners, I KNOW you feel this! After all the costs of running a business can really affect what you net! Here are a few things that help me: 1. Make sure you save 30% of what you make AFTER your expenses are taken out! This will be for you taxes. It’s always better to overshoot than under. After your taxes are paid, if your over consider that your bonus for the quarter/ year or you can put that into an emergency fund for tough times. 2. Reduce expenses where you can but don’t skimp out. To run a successful and profitable business you have to spend money to make money. Skipping something that is a necessary expense can cost you way more in the future, so make sure you see the value in what you are spending your money on. 3. Keep remembering that with any business there are ebbs and flows. Some weeks you are pulling from savings and other weeks you have a windfall. Just look at the bigger picture and down get down with the day to day profits and spending. 4. Get yourself a hype girl.
